An example of a single veiled modifier

Veiled modifiers can be found on items, primarily those dropped by Immortal Syndicate members. The modifier will do nothing until it is taken to Jun, Veiled Master to unveil it. Unveiling the mod presents three random mods, and allows the player to choose which one the veiled mod becomes. Unveiling mods unlocks Crafting Bench recipes for the same type of mod.

As long as an item has at least one veiled mod it will have Veiled-item-symbol.png symbol in front and at the back of its name; the symbol disappears once all mods are unveiled.

A mod received by unveiling will be more powerful than the craftable versions of the same mod, and does not count as a crafted mod. (The color of the mod will also indicate this: unveiled mod versus unlocked crafted mod).

How to obtain

Immortal Syndicate members will sometimes drop a Rare item with a Veiled mod. They may also offer a Veiled item as part of a Bargain. Items with two veiled mods can be found at a much lower rate, and are rewards from certain Syndicate Safehouses from Aisling Laffrey.

Defeating the Syndicate Mastermind while Aisling is a Captain (3 star rank) stationed in Research will reward the player with a Crafting Bench that replaces a random mod on an item to a Veiled mod.

Specific Unique items with veiled mods can also be obtained when defeating Syndicate Safehouse leaders or the Syndicate Mastermind.

    Unique Flask has changed as a result of the changes above. "60-80% reduced Reflected Damage taken during Flask Effect" is now a possible modifier when Unveiling this Flask, which has replaced the increased Critical Strike Chance during Flask Effect modifier that was possible previously. The crafted version of this new modifier has values of 45-55%, and has replaced the Critical Strike Chance during Flask Effect crafting option.
  • The Veiled crafted modifier that provided Quality and Strength/Dexterity/Intelligence, no longer provides Quality. This is to keep the top end at about the same while bringing lower investment Energy Shield up. Instead, it now grants up to 25% chance to Avoid Ignite, Freeze, or Shock, depending on the Attribute, also providing another way to allow characters to solve their Ailment problems. This can no longer be crafted on Weapons.
  • The Veiled modifier that previously granted 50% increased Fortify Effect while Focused now grants +10 to maximum Fortification while Focused. Crafted versions of this modifier have been adjusted accordingly. This change affects existing items.
  • The Veiled and Crafted modifiers on Helmets and Gloves that granted Level of Socketed Melee Gems and Melee Strike Range now grant “+2 to Melee Strike Range” (previously +1).
  • Hybrid elemental added Damage Modifiers on Quivers can now be Unveiled at the same values as those on Shields and Rings, and the Rank 2 and 3 versions of these Modifiers can now be crafted on Quivers at the Crafting Bench (previously only Rank 1).

In our 3.16.0 Patch Notes, we unfortunately missed two notes: one related to armour-based shields and one related to the Veiled Modifier Damage Over Time Multiplier Bow Craft.

  • Quivers now have additional tiers of Damage Over Time Multiplier. In order to be consistent with other item slots, bows now use one-hand Damage Over Time Multiplier values.

  • Damage over Time Multiplier Prefix modifiers on Weapons are now Suffix modifiers, and can no longer roll as Prefixes. This includes Veiled and Crafted modifiers.
  • Dual-attribute Veiled and Crafted modifiers can no longer be rolled with other modifiers that grant flat amounts of attributes of the same types.
  • The Veiled modifier that granted increased Effect of Fortify on you while Focused now grants 50% (previously 120%).
  • Veiled crafted modifiers that granted increased Effect of Fortify on you while Focused now grants 25/30/35% (previously 70/80/90%).

  • Modifiers that are unveiled through Jun are now more powerful than before. Previously, when an item was unveiled, the veiled modifier added to the item would be equal to the highest tier modifier available on the Crafting Bench. Now, the modifier being unveiled no longer counts as a crafted modifier and will be stronger than any craftable veiled modifier.
  • You will still obtain progress towards unlocking the craftable versions of these veiled modifiers, however progress towards unlocking craftable versions of these modifiers is now slightly faster and many crafts have had their worst tier removed.

  • Fixed a bug where you could unveil the 2-handed version of the Arcane Surge on Kill veiled mod on 1-handed weapons.
