Glacial Hammer of Shattering is a melee strike attack that hits the enemy, converting 100% of physical damage to cold damage, with added cold damage against chilled enemies. Every third hit always causes a critical strike. Requires a mace, staff or sceptre.

Changes from default version

Unlike the original skill, this transfigured version does not increase the duration or effect of cold ailments and does not have a chance to apply Freeze. It no longer provides an enhanced freeze on every third hit; instead, the third hit is always a critical strike.

Skill functions and interactions

• Successive strikes: Strikes must be consecutive to benefit from the third strike bonus; any other non-instant action that interrupts your attacks or walking for over approximately 2 seconds will reset the counter.
  • : Multistrike causes 2 repeats, or three hits per skill use; this causes Multistrike's third hit to usually always align with Glacial Hammer's third strike bonus, unless the multistrike was cancelled without resetting Glacial Hammer's counter. Fully resetting the counter before attacking will re-align the counter.
  • : Because Ruthless does not reset the same way as Glacial Hammer, this can cause the two to misalign.
  • Using both and will cause every 3rd multistrike use (7th, 8th, and 9th hit) to be Ruthless Blows. This guarantees at least one of the Ruthless Blows will also trigger the third strike bonus, unless Glacial Hammer's counter resets between the third multistrike use.
