An Alteration Shard is a currency item obtained by selling certain items to vendors (See Vendor Recipes). Unlike earlier shards, a variable amount of shards are given, depending on each modifiers on the item. Each item can give from 1-8 shards, with a full list provided on the recipes page. Some modifiers give Alchemy Shards when sold also.
