An example of a rare Shaper item

Shaper items are powerful items with modifiers not found elsewhere, as well as higher-tier versions of some existing modifiers. They can be recognized by their cosmic starry background, and little red icons next to their name. Shaper items can only be obtained in maps in the Atlas of Worlds where the Shaper holds influence or by defeating the Shaper himself. Shaper items can be of any rarity, including unique. Another way to get a shaper item is from divination cards or to complete Delves.

Shaper items always drop Rare (other than the uniques below) with at least one Shaper affix. Modifying the item with e.g. a Chaos Orb is not guaranteed to produce a Shaper affix. A Shaper item retains its status when modified with currency, allowing the creation of arbitrary Shaper unique items.

These unique items will always drop as a Shaper item:

Items exclusive to the Shaper's guardians now drop less frequently. Shaper items and Jewels can now gain mods that affect Non-ailment Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier and Cold Damage over Time Multiplier. The Shaper weapon mods which cause you to gain a portion of Physical Damage as Extra Cold, Fire, or Lightning Damage, or Extra Damage of a random Element, grant half as much Extra Damage. Amulets are unaffected by this change, and this does not affect existing items. Existing versions can be updated to these new values with a Divine Orb.
