Headhunter is a uniqueLeather BeltLeather BeltRequires Level 8+(25-40) to maximum Life. It canonically belongs to King Kaom, who wore Lioneye's severed head on this belt after Lioneye's defeat at Lioneye's Watch.
Due to its powerful effects and extremely low drop rate as a tier 0 unique[1][2], it is typically one of the most expensive items in each league, traded amongst players for many Divine OrbsDivine OrbStack Size: 20Randomises the values of the random modifiers on an itemRight click this item then left click a magic, rare or unique item to apply it.. Its rarity, desirability, and status as one of the most iconic items in Path of Exile means that it is also commonly used as a status symbol.
Upon killing a rare monster, the player gains all of its explicit monster modifiers for 60 seconds. This on-kill effect applies even if a minion or proxy kills a rare monster; this exception is likely made due to the status of this unique item. Because stolen modifiers cannot stack,[3] there is no benefit to combining Headhunter with similar effects, like Inspired LearningInspired Learning Crimson JewelRadius: SmallWith 4 Notables Allocated in Radius, When you Kill a Rare monster, you gain 1 of its Modifiers for 20 secondsIf you do not learn from a won battle then you have already lost the war.Place into an allocated Jewel Socket on the Passive Skill Tree. Alternate-art Unique Items can now be converted to account-bound microtransactions using the new /convertracereward chat command. The item will be destroyed, and you will be granted an account-bound microtransaction that changes the appearance of an item of the same type to match that of the destroyed item.
The Headhunter Unique Belt now has "When you Kill a Rare Monster, you gain its Modifiers for 60 seconds" (previously 20 seconds).
The above changes affect existing versions
We have done a lot of work on reducing the memory usage of rare monster modifiers so that a greater variety can be present in each area. This means that the number of different mods that Headhunter items can steal is a lot higher than before.
Archnemesis modifiers have been rebalanced and added to the core game. Existing Magic and Rare monster modifiers have been replaced with Archnemesis modifiers.
Bloodlines and Nemesis have been removed from the core game. Some of their modifiers have been incorporated into the new monster modifier system (Read version 3.18.0 § Bloodlines and Nemesis Removal for details)
Archnemesis modifiers are able to be gained by characters through sources such as Headhunter and Inspired LearningInspired Learning Crimson JewelRadius: SmallWith 4 Notables Allocated in Radius, When you Kill a Rare monster, you gain 1 of its Modifiers for 20 secondsIf you do not learn from a won battle then you have already lost the war.Place into an allocated Jewel Socket on the Passive Skill Tree. Players once again gain the Mods of indirectly killed rare monsters while using the Headhunter or Inspired Learning uniques. This fixes an unintentional change to this mechanic in the 2.1.0 patch.
