Guide:Gwennen gambling

Gwennen gambling is an unofficial term used by players related to strategies for obtaining Unique items via the vendor shop of Gwennen, the Gambler. This is considered one of the better strategies to target farm Unique items, especially those that are extremely rare (t1 or t0 drops). The strategy simply revolves around farming a high quantity of Broken Circle Artifacts and Astragalis in Expedition logbooks.

Player testing has discovered that Gwennen has a Tier Weight distribution that is significantly better weighted for higher tiers compared to other Unique generation strategies (e.g. Ancient Orbs, Orb of Chances). The ilvl and base types of items sold by Gwennen scale with the player's level. Do note that extremely low-level requirement items (e.g. Simple Robes) are uncommon to spawn in the vendor window after reaching maps.

To optimize this strategy, it is recommended that the player obtain a regex string that can be copy-pasted into the search bar to highlight desirable bases (as several bases share the same or similar artwork (e.g. Elegant Round Shield and Baroque Round Shield). You can make your own regex string here.

Tutorial

• By default, the filter shows the top ten base items in terms of the Chaos value of the rarest unique. Simply click Generate String at the top to get that regex string. You will need to include the "quotation marks" on either side of the string for it to function. Clicking the string will copy it to your clipboard. To autogenerate a string, modify the minimum Chaos value (based on SC trade league; there is a link to the HC trade league below on the website).
• Always show selected rows: Shows all selected bases by default even if no Unique meets the Chaos value threshold. Change to "Hide" to hide these bases.
• Show low value items in row: Hides all Uniques 1 chaos or under by default. Change to "Show" to make custom SSF filters.
• Minimum Chaos value to show: Hides all Uniques 1 chaos or under by default. Change to "Show" to make custom SSF filters.
• Keyword(s) Search: Overrides all filter settings to find matching item or base names.
• Select Matching Only: Selects only rows that match current Keyword(s) Search or Minimum Chaos settings and deselects all others.
• Select Visible: Adds all rows that match current Keyword(s) Search or Minimum Chaos to current selection.
• Clear Selected: Deselects all rows.
• To select a single item, click the white box.
• To remove a single item, click the white box with an X on it.
  • To search for Atlas bases (i85/i86 bases for crafting/influencing), put "influenced" or "base" in the keyword search.
  • If you select too many items, strings will be split across several lines. You will need to either remove items to shorten the string, or paste several strings each time you refresh. Awakened POE Trade or the Windows clipboard history function can make this easier.
