Mechanics and interactions

Echoes of Creation is one of several items that allow the player to hit themselves with secondary damage.

• This damage cannot be blocked or evaded, but can be mitigated normally otherwise, for example with damage shifts, physical damage reduction, or modifiers to damage taken such as Fortification.
• The damage is a single hit, scaling additively with more warcries exerting the attack.
• Damage is taken immediately after attacking, even if the attack animation is cancelled, intentionally or by stun. This can kill the exile before the skill deals damage.
• Using Echoes of Creation with Chaos Inoculation will cause the hit to deal a percentage of 1 damage, typically resulting in 0. This can be a way to avoid the downside without actual mitigation.
• Self-hits may be useful for when-hit effects such as the Juggernaut passive Unflinching or the skill VengeanceVengeanceTrigger, Attack, AoE, Physical, Melee
