Soul Eater

Please update this article to reflect newly available information. Relevant discussion may be found on the talk page.
Soul Eater is a stackable buff that grants 5% increased attack speed, 5% increased cast speed and 1% increased character size per stack. Every enemy killed grants 1 stack.
Mechanics
Soul eater buff will persist until the original source creating it expires. Therefore the player character can't gain soul eater buff while they already have soul eater buff and can't refresh buff duration until its expires and loses all stacks. When having this buff, there is no cap on how many soul stacked.
Soul eater has a limited radius of 60 units.[1] Killing enemies farther away than this will not give stacks.[2]
Stacks - Soul eater has no cap for the buff stacks. Killing a large amount of enemies with a long soul eater duration can give a character large amounts of cast and attack speed. For Example:
- With a 20 second buff, killing 50 enemies in 10 seconds will give 250% attack and cast speed for the last 10 seconds of the buff. (This is not counting all kills made the last 10 seconds of the buff)
Buff Interactions
Vaal skills will not gain souls during the Soul Eater buff effect.
Monsters
In addition to attack speed, cast speed and increased character size , nemesis version of Soul Eater buff on monster, gain Grants 5% increased Damage Reduction to aura owner on death (Hidden).[3] This means killing a pack of monsters around the pack leader that has Soul Eater nemesis mod/aura/buff, will make the monster with Soul Eater to have damage reduction. Due to game balancing, this damage reduction buff, however, did not apply to the player character who has Soul Eater.[4]
Witch of the Cauldron, map version Alira, uses its unique version of Soul Eater Module Error: No results found.. The damage reduction is 2% per stack for this version.
Simi, the Nature Touched also uses its own version of Soul Eater Module Error: No results found.. The damage reduction is 2% per stack for this version.
