The range of a skill or effect is the maximum distance it can influence anything from its point of origin.

Melee attacks typically have a relatively short range, while so-called "ranged" attacks and spells can hit targets from much farther away. Attacks and spells with an area of effect also have a range, and affect everything within. The range of AoE skills and auras is often referred to as radius.

The range of attacks and spells can be improved with certain passive skills (as seen below) or you can increase your weapon range by using the unique axe WideswingWideswing
