The Crafting Bench lets players craft a modifier into equipment or modify sockets and links at the cost of some currency. It can be found in the player's hideout.

Mechanics

Typically, only one crafted modifier may be added to an item; the crafted modifier is shown in a brighter color than regular mods. Crafting a mod follows the normal affix rules. Specifically:

• The item cannot already have a mod of that type.
• The item must have a prefix or suffix slot open as appropriate. This means that a second prefix or suffix cannot be crafted onto a magic item, nor a fourth prefix or suffix onto a rare item.

Can have up to 3 Crafted Modifiers meta-crafting mod.

Players can remove a crafted mod from an item with an . If the item already has a crafted mod, the recipe will automatically use a Orb of Scouring to add a different crafted mod.

There are also recipes which modify the number of sockets, socket colors, or links on the item. Players may use socket recipes on corrupted equipment, which will require the same amount of as the required currency.

For convenience, the ingredients/currency needed to craft a mod onto a piece of equipment do not need to directly be in your inventory at the time. The Crafting Bench will fully track, and use, items in your Stash as well.

Unlock locations

Crafting recipes are discovered in various locations across multiple contents. Most of them can be found in the campaign Acts, The Labyrinth, and maps. Unveiling veiled items also unlocks crafting recipes.

Jun's recipes are unlocked by unveiling items with the modifiers on them. Each unveil gives a specific amount of process towards an unlock and if the threshold is reached, the next rank is unlocked. Higher ranks require more unlocks, but some missions may give more progress as well. Some veiled mods can only drop from a specific Immortal Syndicate member.

Version history

3.16.0	Many crafting modifiers that were obtained from Delve, Prophecy and Incursion are now obtained in maps, including Meta Crafting Modifiers being found in unique maps. The crafts that allow Items to have mulitple Crafted Modifiers, prevent Item Prefixes or Suffixes from being changed, prevent Items from rolling Attack or Caster Modifiers, crafts that modify Socket Colours, Numbers or Links on an item, and all crafts previously found in the Incursion Temple can now be found in Maps. Crafting Recipes that were previously unlocked in Maps that have been removed are now found within other Maps currently on the Atlas.
3.11.0	Fixed a bug where items with a fixed number of sockets (such as or ) could have the number of sockets reduced through the hideout crafting bench, but not increased. Now, the number (or, if the item specificies, colour) of sockets can no longer be affected by the crafting bench.
3.5.0	Overhauled Mastercrafting: You now have a single Crafting Bench in your Hideout that covers all item types and crafting mods. You now gain new crafting mods from a variety of different sources, including through exploration and helping the new Masters. You can also overwrite previously crafted mods at the cost of an Orb of Scouring. Masters, including Zana, no longer have Reputation levels. Features such as crafting bench options are, as a result, no longer unlocked by grinding master missions, and are instead unlocked by encountering specific locations, situations or completing specific objectives.
1.2.0	Introduced to the game. Talking to a master in your hideout allows you to receive a Crafting Bench that can be placed in your hideout. The bench levels up with the master and has more options with each level. You can still use a crafting bench even after you've dismissed that master from your hideout. Visitors can't use your crafting benches.
