Shock Nova is a lightning spell with a high chance to shock that casts an initial ring of lightning followed by a larger circular area of lightning damage.

Skill Functions and Interactions

Shaded region indicates initial ring, outer circle indicates radius of second area damage. Red enemies are hit twice for 150% of base damage, orange enemies are hit once for 100% of base damage, white enemies are not hit.

Shock Nova has two damaging components: an initial ring of lightning, and then a larger, circular area of lightning damage. The initial ring has a fixed width such that monsters near the center 'dead zone' will not be hit. The subsequent lightning area damage has a larger radius than the initial ring, and all monsters up to that radius will be hit. Therefore it is possible for monsters to be hit by either both components, or just the larger area damage, or neither.
