Viridi

From Path of Exile Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Viridi is a historical figure, a god worshipped by the Azmeri. She is the sister of Solaris and Lunaris. Despite her sisters being recognized and worshipped by the Eternal Empire, she did not receive the same treatment.

The name is probably related to the real world word virid (Latin: viridis). viridis itself means "green" or "young" but virid only means "green". There is an existing history of items with green art being called "Viridian" (Viridian JewelViridian JewelPlace into an allocated Jewel Socket on the Passive Skill Tree. Lore

In the Azmerian creation myth, Viridi is said to have been "trapped within" "the orb" while her sisters created the world.

"A raging Solaris seared and contorted the orb's surface.

A despairing Lunaris filled the scars with her tears.

Yet Viridi remained, trapped within, forever more."

Viridi's Finger

Viridi's FingerViridi's Finger"It supposedly causes enormous plants to grow from almost any soil. The myth claims we
need to sacrifice a baby to make it function, but that's a bit grotesque, even for me."
is purpoted to be an "Azmeri artefact" originating from Viridi herself, infused with the magical ability to cause "enormous plants to grow from almost any soil". In Contract: A Mundane SampleContract: A Mundane Sample"It supposedly causes enormous plants to grow from almost any soil. The myth claims we
need to sacrifice a baby to make it function, but that's a bit grotesque, even for me."
, Niles tasks the exile with retrieving the said artefact in an effort to disprove its abilities. Niles ends up destroying the artefact upon discovering that the Finger really did work, under the impression that the Finger was in fact a cleverly designed fake created with the sole purpose of tricking the unaware into believing in the existence of magic.

"

Interrogation is a flawed art, as we learned together, but now I know of a better method to prove that divinity is false. I have learned the location of a renowned Azmeri artefact known as Viridi's Finger. It supposedly causes enormous plants to grow from almost any soil. Once it is in our possession, we can prove once and for all that Viridi's Finger is a fake and expose the liars for what they are. Prepare yourself, Exile!

"

Hmm. Viridi's Finger did indeed cause enormous plants to grow. You know what that means, don't you?
We've fallen into one of their traps. Clearly, someone has created this to fool us. I don't know whether it is some unknown species of plant, or some sort of hypnotizer, or perhaps some sort of illusion machine, but Viridi's Finger is too dangerous. I shall destroy it, so that no one else will ever be fooled by it again!
