For the non-Vaal counterpart, see Power Siphon.

Vaal Power Siphon is a vaal projectile attack that fires a single wand projectile at each nearby enemy, granting a power charge for any slain by it.

Skill Functions and Interactions

Vaal Power Siphon fires one projectile at each enemy, meaning that if 20 enemies are present, adding Lesser Multiple Projectiles will cause 60 total projectiles to be fired. However each set of projectiles is able only to hit the enemy it targeted, and only with a single projectile. This means that additional projectiles created by support gems such as Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Lesser Multiple Projectiles" or Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Greater Multiple Projectiles" do not have any effect despite reducing damage. Other support gems, such as Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Chain", do result in each projectile being able to hit more than one target.

Version History

Version Changes
1.1.0d
  • Vaal Skill soul counts were initially balanced for Merciless difficulty, where there are more monsters. We want them to be easier to use in Normal and Cruel difficulty. We have halved the number of souls required for each skill. In Cruel difficulty, skills require 50% more souls to uses. In Merciless difficulty, they require 100% more (which is the same as before the patch).
1.1.0
  • Introduced to the game.
