Projectile Barrages have no spread [1]
Far Shot is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Deadeye that grants increased projectile speed and the Far Shot modifier, causing projectile attacks to deal more damage the further they travel.
There are other source of Far Shot modifier such as from the unique items.
Far Shot modifier itself has this function: Projectile Attacks gain Damage as they travel farther, dealing up to 30% more Attack Damage with Hits to target
Mechanics
As the projectile begins to move from its point of origin, the attack gains more damage, capped at 30% more damage. It is important to note that damage scaling is done with respect to the total distance the projectile has travelled, not its current distance from the point of origin. Projectile Speed: 1000Throws a spectral copy of your melee weapon. It flies out and then returns to you, in a spinning attack that damages enemies in its path.
Additional Effects From 1-20% Quality:
Projectiles that have Pierced deal (0.5-10)% more DamagePlace into an item socket of the right colour to gain this skill. Right click to remove from a socket.—distance travelled continues to increase as the projectile returns to its point of origin.
Exact damage scaling yet to be determined. Support for Far Shot was added to Path of Building 1.4.117 on 6 Dec 2018, and shows the following damage scaling:

Interactions
Point Blank
Point Blank and Far Shot are multiplied together, and thus helps counteract the damage falloff at distance.

At close ranges the damage is vastly superior though, and it is worth keeping in mind that during full screen 1920x1080 gameplay, 85 units is the distance from the character to the edge of the screen. The damage multiplier would still be above zero at that point.
On Enemies
Far Shot is also used as a monster modifier. It is used by Birdmen, Maelströms, Voidbearers, as well as some unique monsters.
Presumably, monsters share the same damage mechanics as this passive.
