Ball Lightning

Skill Functions and Interactions
Ball Lightning is a slow moving projectile, that strikes targets with bolts of lightning around itself. Lightning bolts strike targets every 200 milliseconds and each target cannot be hit more often than this. That restriction is shared between all balls fired on the same cast.[1] The base projectile speed is roughly 36 units per second.[2]
- Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Lesser Multiple Projectiles" and Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Greater Multiple Projectiles" increase the number of projectiles, and thus the area of effect. However, since a target cannot be hit more than once within 200 ms, it cannot be used to "shotgun" the target by hitting them with multiple projectiles at once, leading to a possible DPS loss.
- Balls cast by Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Multiple Traps" do not share the 200 ms cooldown between each other because every trap counts as a separate "caster".
- Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Spell Echo"'s second cast does not share the 200 ms cooldown with the first one.
- Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Increased Area of Effect" increases the range of the bolts fired from the lightning balls.
- Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Concentrated Effect" and "area of effect damage" passive nodes do nothing.
- Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Slower Projectiles" increases the amount of time the enemy spends within the ball's area of effect, resulting in a higher potential number of lightning strikes per cast.
- Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Fork" and Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Chain" have no effect as Ball Lightning automatically pierces targets. More details can be found on the Projectile page.
