Altar of Corruption
Within the Locus of Corruption, the player can interact with the Corruption Altar in the center of the room to access a device that can be used to corrupt a single item, with potentially powerful or destructive results. This works somewhat like a Vaal OrbVaal OrbStack Size: 20Corrupts an item, modifying it unpredictablyRight click this item then left click an item to corrupt it. Corrupted items cannot be modified again. but has different outcomes. The types of items that can be corrupted this way include weapons, armour, jewellery, quivers and jewels. The device can only be used on an item that is not already corrupted.
In addition to corrupting the item, one of four possible outcomes will be applied to it. Each has an equal chance of occurring.[1]
- The item may gain two corruption implicit modifiers. These will replace any implicit modifiers already on the item.
- This outcome is often referred to by players as "double corrupting" the item.[2][3][4]
