Blind
Blind is a status ailment that reduces the chance to hit of the affected target by 50% and reduce its light radius to the minimum value.
The base duration of Blind is 4 seconds. Attacking with Resolute Technique or attacking a target which has Unwavering Stance will nullify the miss chance. Blinding a target will also reduce its effective critical strike chance by reducing its chance to succeed confirmation rolls of critical strikes[1]. Blind is not an elemental status ailment and is not affected by the Crystal Skin notable passive skill.
Immunity to blind can be acquired by wielding Module Error: More than one result found for item using search term "item_name = The Dark Seer". Try using the page parameter instead.
Calculations
Attacker's chance to hit = 1 - Defender's chance to evade [Chance to hit while blinded] = 0.5 * [Chance to hit while not blinded] or equivalent: Defender's chance to evade = 1 - Attacker's chance to hit [Chance to evade blinded enemy] = 1 - ( 0.5 * ( 1 - [Chance to evade not-blinded enemy] ) )
For example, if you would normally have a 35% chance to evade attacks made by a particular enemy, you would have:
- 1 - ( 0.5 * ( 1 - 0.35 ) ) = 67.5% Chance to evade that same enemy when it is blinded.
In addition, the attacker's effective critical strike chance is also reduced:
Attacker's effective critical strike chance = [Attacker's critical strike chance] * [Attacker's chance to hit]
Using the values from the previous example, if the attacker has a 20% critical strike chance then its effective critical strike chance can be calculated as follows
While not blinded:
- 20% * ( 1 - 35% ) = 13% effective critical strike chance
While blinded:
- 20% * ( 1 - 67.5% ) = 6.5% effective critical strike chance
