Primeval civilization
The Clayshaper was a member of the ill-fated Proto-Vaal civilization. her story is told in the rings Ahkeli's Meadow, Ahkeli's Mountain, and Ahkeli's Valley. Destruction was "set upon her home", causing the demise of her home, "creations", and family. She fled to the "clouds of ash above". These events may be depicted in several murals found across the Proto-Vaal ruins, which can be found here.
The Clayshaper had the ability to construct and command elemental golems.

The Clayshaper was a member of the ill-fated primeval civilization, and her story is told in the rings bearing her name: Ahkeli's Meadow, Ahkeli's Mountain, and Ahkeli's Valley. The stories depict the destruction of her home, creations, and family, and her subsequent exodus from her homeland to an unspecified mountain. These events also parallel the events depicted in several murals found across the Primeval Ruins.
As described by Rusted Abyss Scarabs, Ahkeli came to meet surviving members of the Maraketh in the Vastiri Plains. They agreed to an alliance, uniting against an invasion/attack by the Lightless, whose appearance is correlated with the catastrophic events that led to the death of her family.

As a way to fight back against the Lightless, Ahkeli pioneered the art of creating golems, whom she created wielding the Clayshaper. According to Polished Abyss Scarab, Ahkeli "bid" the Maraketh to seek "relics of power", which somewhow aided them in the battle against the Lightless.

Gilded Abyss Scarabs refer to Ahkeli as an "Honoured Founder". Thus, it is clear that Ahkeli, through her alliance with the Maraketh in conjunction with her golems, earned her credit as the Founder of some collective.. It is known that all the Scarabs are all created by the Order of the Djinn to memorialize some important member in their organization's history. Note the specific use of the word "Order" used in the Rusted Scarab during the first encounter between her and the Maraketh. Thus, it can be theorized that Ahkeli was one of the original founders of the Order of the Djinn, along with the Maraketh in reaction to the Lightless threat.
Death and legacy
The Gilded Abyss Scarab uses a very specific wording: "the fate of your people will never befall another." We know that Ahkeli's "people" were the Proto-Vaal, and that the fate that befell them was described across several murals found in their ruins. Ahkeli's "efforts" helped resist the Lightless attacks. Therefore, we can ascertain that it was specifically the Lightless that nearly wiped out the Proto-Vaal, and not just weather events such as the "clouds of ash".
According to Kalandra, Ahkeli took refuge at the Lake of Kalandra at some point - "quest" - but the exact time frame of this event is unknown.

Of course, the Gilded Abyss Scarabs also imply her death. She seems to have died by an unknown cause at some point before the conclusion of the Winter of the World.

Other
The line "The fate of your people will never befall another." is also a reference to the fall of the primeval civilization, and relates to the mission of the Order of the Djinn in "protecting the people of Wraeclast from themselves".
Ahkeli is depicted in The Rite of Elements wielding Clayshaper, creating golems of every type. Note that every type of golem is accounted for - except Summon Carrion Golem.

At the end of an Abyss encounter, Kalandra states: "Often, it is our own creations that destroy us in the end." It is unknown exactly what she means. It is known that Ahkeli eventually died, as it stated on the Gilded Abyss Scarab before the conclusion of some conflict (they wouldn't have to explain the "Winter of the World" if Ahkeli had witnessed it) by an unknown cause. Kalandra seems to imply that Ahkeli died at the hands of her own golems, but no other evidence supports this theory. Of course, she could be referring to the Lightless, as they were the ones "destroyed", but it is unlikely that Ahkeli or the Maraketh were created by them. It is also unknown from where or whom did the Lightless originate from.

To create her golems, Ahkeli seems to be tapping into some Primordial force, connected with the rocks and the land, (consider the connection with the rocks the Proto-Vaal had been ordering to be quarried) judging by the Primordial modifier found on many golem-related unique items.

According to Kalandra, Ahkeli took refuge at the Lake at some point. It is unknown whether this was during their initial attack (specifically, if feeling to the "clouds of ash above" led to the Lake) or if this was at a nonspecific point during her war with the Lightless.

As evidenced by , Ahkeli had already begun creating 'something' before her home was destroyed. It is likely that this was hobby or artisinal craft, turned  practical when driven by necessity.

The Maraketh and the Winter of the World

After leaving her mountain refuge, Ahkeli met surviving tribespeople of the Maraketh. Forming an alliance, they drove back hordes of Lightless invading the Vastiri Plains utilizing "relics of power" related to the Three Sisters.[1]

Death and legacy

According to Kalandra, Ahkeli took refuge at the Lake of Kalandra at some point - "The Clayshaper once took refuge here... for a time." - but the exact time frame of this event is unknown.

The Gilded Abyss Scarab serves as an epitaph for her death and role in the Winter of the World. Ahkeli is referred to as "Honoured Founder" in reference to the Order of the Djinn, a collective known to immortalize their notable members' stories through scarabs.

The line "The fate of your people will never befall another." is also a reference to the fall of the primeval civilization, and relates to the mission of the Order of the Djinn in "protecting the people of Wraeclast from themselves".
