There is already a section about effects from kills by totems not affecting player but wanted to check in-game as well.

Article title

The article should move to Totem and Ballista. Despite only "Totem (gem tag)" exited, there are some passive skill for Ballista only. Neokowloon (talk) 01:41, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

Since Ballistas are a subset of Totems, I think this would just complicate the article title for no real benefit (it's not like Traps and Mines where each has properties the other does not). Better I think to add a section to the existing article describing Ballistas, and a redirect from Ballista to Totem. --RenegadeKamui (talk) 14:35, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
I created sub-article Ballista Totem anyway since some skill are specific to "Ballista Totem". Neokowloon (talk) 03:31, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

Onslaught Support (and possibly other generated buffs)

The Onslaught Support gem is compatible with the (for example) Holy Flame totem. (A small "n" appears in the totem icon.)

"10% chance to grant Onslaught for 3 seconds when you Hit a Unique Enemy".

Who will gain the Onslaught buff? The character or the totem?

In general, any "gain xx buff" generated by the totem, will be transfered to the character?

The Totem article does mention "Any charges generated by the totem are simply discarded", but does not mention generated buffs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dndmpdju9kvo4fwpxn5 (talkcontribs) 23:59, 13 January 2020‎

The totem will gain Onslaught, where it will do nothing, because totems use your skills and your offensive modifiers, not their own. --RenegadeKamui (talk) 14:32, 14 January 2020 (UTC)

Attack Skills

What do "Attack Skills have +1 to maximum number of Summoned Totems" and "Attack Skills have +1 to maximum number of Summoned Ballista Totems" mean? What totems can be summoned, when, and when will be one totem removed? Is it the totem who must have the "Attack" label, or something else? Does depend the removal or totem on what other skill gems the character uses (or will be triggered)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dndmpdju9kvo4fwpxn5 (talkcontribs) 01:51, 21 January 2020‎

It means that each Attack skill used by a Totem can have an additional Totem out, in addition to the "general pool" of Totems. For example, if your Totem limit was three, but you had +1 to maximum Attack Totems, you could have e.g. one Ancestral Protector, one Ancestral Warchief, and three other Totems which could be Protectors, Warchiefs, Searing Bond, or anything else. The second mod limits the effect to Totems which use ranged Attacks. --RenegadeKamui (talk) 15:33, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

Totem Mechanics: Flask charge on crit and Rage generation (3.22)

From what I've read about this flask mod and totems from these forum posts:

Criticals done by totems don't grant the player flask charges. Did a quick test with a couple other mechanics.

  • Rampage, Yes, was counted from totem kills. (Aside from the wording on the Rampage wiki page saying party members, where totems aren't counted as party members).
  • Not explicitly stated but killed enemies by totems do grant flask charges to the player. (unless they have a modifier saying they won't)
  • Adrenaline from Death RushDeath Rush
    Amethyst Ring
Requires Level 30+(17-23)% to Chaos ResistanceRecover (3-5)% of Life on Kill
Gain Adrenaline for (1-3) seconds on Kill
To truly appreciate life you must be there when it ends
, No, Gain Adrenaline for (1-3) seconds on kill, totem kills did not grant adrenaline to the player.
  • Rage searing exarch implicit on gloves, No, Gain 1 Rage on Hit with Attacks, no more than once every 1.2 seconds, totem attacks did not give rage to player.
  • Phasing on kill mod from an abyss jewel, No, 6% chance to gain Phasing for 4 seconds on Kill, totem kills did not give phasing to the player on kill.

There is already a section about effects from kills by totems not affecting player but wanted to check in-game as well. --Silverwilver (talk) 03:14, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
