In PoE, Poison is found as a damage type and as a status ailment.

Poison as a damage type

It is dealt as Chaos damage over time and is affected by damage over time and chaos damage enhancements.

Skills that deal poison damage are:

  • Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Poison Arrow" skill deals listed poison damage to targets within the cloud and for a short time after they leave it.[1]
  • Viper Strike can stack up to four charges upon a successful hit, which do listed poison damage.


Poison as a status ailment

It deals 10% of all damage (including physical, elemental, and chaos damage[2]) of the hit that caused it, as chaos damage per second. The effect lasts for 2 seconds, dealing 20% of initial hit damage in total.

IzaroVulnerability - Base duration is (5.00-6.45) seconds, Cursed enemies take (15-25)% increased Physical Damage, Attacks Hits against Cursed Enemies have 25% chance to inflict Bleeding (page)
