Locus of Corruption is a tier 3 incursion room. It can be upgraded from Catalyst of Corruption, itself from Corruption Chamber.

Within the Locus of Corruption, the player can interact with the Corruption Altar in the center of the room to access a device that can be used to corrupt a single item, with potentially powerful or destructive results. This works somewhat like a Vaal OrbVaal OrbStack Size: 20Corrupts an item, modifying it unpredictablyRight click this item then left click an item to corrupt it. Corrupted items cannot be modified again. but has different outcomes. The types of items that can be corrupted this way include weapons, armour and jewels. The device can only be used on an item that is not already corrupted.

The outcome depends on the item class and item level of the item being corrupted.

Regular items:

• Turn all sockets white
• Change into a random influenced rare
• Destroy the item
• Grant two random corrupted implicit modifiers

Each outcome has an equal chance of occurring. It is most likely not possible to transform certain unique equipment items into their Vaal version. There are no upgraded uniques with two corrupted implicit modifiers.
