Gaze into the Abyss is an atlas passive skill.

It grants The Elder (Red Elder) and its Uber version a +10% chance to drop a Watcher's EyeWatcher's Eye
Prismatic JewelLimited to: 1(4-6)% increased maximum Energy Shield
(4-6)% increased maximum Life
(4-6)% increased maximum Mana
<Two or Three random aura modifiers>One by one, they stood their ground against a creature
they had no hope of understanding, let alone defeating,
and one by one, they became a part of it.Place into an allocated Jewel Socket on the Passive Skill Tree. Right click to remove from the Socket., of which has an undisclosed base drop chance. It is still assumed that you must keep the Shaper alive in the Red Elder boss fight.

It also makes The Shaper (Unconfirmed: Whether it includes the version in the Uber Elder fight) drop +3 rare items with Shaper Influence.

Location

Top of the atlas passive skill tree, in the same cluster with the small nodes that increase the chance of influenced item to drop from Shaper, Elder and their Guardians as well as the notable Remnants of the Past and keystone Inevitable Ambush.

Fixed a bug where the Gaze into the Abyss Atlas Passive was not applying in The Shaper's Realm. Remnants of the Past now grants "Map Bosses have 3% chance to drop an Elder Guardian Map (Tier 14+)" and "Map Bosses have 3% chance to drop a Shaper Guardian Map (Tier 14+)" (both previously 2% chance).
