Mechanics

The You take 20% of Damage from Blocked Hits modifier is additive with similar modifiers found on Glancing Blows and Ritual basetypes like Brimstone TreadsBrimstone TreadsArmour: (236-271)Requires Level 80, 124 Str+(4-5)% Chance to Block Attack Damage
You take 20% of Damage from Blocked Hits
.

Other than taking damage from the hit, the mechanics of block are unchanged. A blocked hit still cannot apply on-hit effects, such as ailments or curses. The chance to play the block animation is based on the full damage of the hit.

By default, you take 0% of the damage from blocked hits. Glancing Blows makes you take 65% of that damage. The Implicit modifier on Basemetal Treads, Darksteel Treads or Brimstone Treads, and the explicit modifier on The Oppressor, makes you take 20% of the damage of blocked hits. If you have at least one of these, you'll take 85% of the damage of blocked hits.[1] With all three sources, you will take 105% of the blocked hit, or 5% more damage than you would have taken if it was not blocked.

to be added to the game in version 3.16.0. One day before the release of the version 3.16.0 update, the community team at Grinding Gear Games posted a teaser of the Oppressor on the Path of Exile subreddit, titled Trash to Trash—a play on words of Module Error: No results found for item using search term "item_name = Trash to Treasure".[4] When one redditor made a comment about how seemingly lackluster the Oppressor is, Chris Wilson replied stating that "[The Oppressor] is amazing at doing what it's supposed to do".[5] Although it was never explicitly stated, there is a strong implication that the developers included the Oppressor in the version 3.16.0 update in order to prevent players from deterministically acquiring the Squire. Without the existence of the Oppressor, the Squire would be the only possible outcome of upgrading an Elegant Round Shield to unique rarity using a Tainted Mythic OrbTainted Mythic OrbStack Size: 20Unpredictably either upgrades a corrupted item to unique rarity or destroys itRight click this item then left click a corrupted item to apply it.
