The term kill refers to causing death of a creature. Most creatures leave corpses on death.
Players are always credited for kills even if they were made by summoned minions, totems and so forth. [citation needed]
On/when kill effects
Similarly to on-hit effects, there are effects that trigger when creature has been killed:
- gain temporary buffs (e.g. charges)
- gain life, mana or energy shield
- skill-specific effects (e.g. Infernal Blow's explosion)
