For example, a T16 map is area level 83, a normal Abyssal Depths from that map is area level 84. With Lightless Legion it is area level 87. Unique monsters including boss, drop +2 to item level, which would be 89. The area and item level would even higher if the unique watchstone has the mod {{c|mod|+1 to Monster Level of Area}}, and multiple copies of this mod from watchstones (of different name) stacks. Note that drops from non-unique monsters also affects by the watchstones and the passive, so that they may also drop valuable (non-Abyss) base. Currently, there is no belt mod that need ilvl higher than 86, so that with the new [[Inspired Darkness]] passive, a T16 map is required to get a ilvl 86 {{il|Stygian Vise}}, which with Lightless Legion (post-ver3.17), a T13+ map is required.

Lightless Legion
Atlas notable
Abyssal Depths in your Maps have +3 to Monster Level
Abyssal Depths in your Maps have 100% increased number of Magic Monsters
Abyssal Depths in your Maps have 100% increased number of Rare Monsters
Abyssal Depths in your Maps have 30% increased Pack Size

Lightless Legion was an atlas passive skill that add +3 monster level to Abyssal Depths so that the item level also increased, with a "downside" of increased pack size and number of monsters, as well as "harder" boss fight due to monster level scaling.

Location

Before its removal, it is located in a cluster on the right side of the tree. Awakened Depths is on the same Abyss cluster. The Votive Hoard-Abyssal Army cluster is few small nodes away.

Version history

It is originally only for running map in Tirn's End atlas region. In version 3.16.0 the passive is moved to Glennach Cairns as the atlas now has 4 regions instead of 8. From version 3.17.0 to version 3.20.X it is part of the atlas-wide passive skill tree. It is removed in version 3.21.0.

Before version 3.17.0 which remove unique watchstone, Lightless Legion can be combine with some unique watchstone mods to generate a very high area level Abyssal Depths, which in turn dropping high item level Stygian ViseStygian ViseHas 1 Abyssal Socket and other base for crafting, as well as high ilvl unique items as souvenir. ilvl only affects unique in terms of corruption implicit outcome, which does not requires very high ilvl to get all the possible mods, which is not the case for rare items.

For example, a T16 map is area level 83, a normal Abyssal Depths from that map is area level 84. With Lightless Legion it is area level 87. Unique monsters including boss, +2 to drops' item level, which would be 89. The area and item level would even higher if the unique watchstone has the mod +1 to Monster Level of Area, and multiple copies of this mod from watchstones (of different name) stacks. Note that drops from non-unique monsters also affects by the watchstones and the passive, so that they may also drop valuable (non-Abyss) base. Currently, there is no belt mod that need ilvl higher than 86, so that with the new Inspired Darkness passive, a T16 map is required to get an ilvl 86 Stygian ViseStygian ViseHas 1 Abyssal Socket, which with Lightless Legion (post-ver3.17), a T13+ map is required.
