Splitting item refers to the use of the Fenumal Plagued Arachnid beast or Fractured FossilFractured FossilStack Size: 10Creates a split copy

Enchanted, Fractured, or Synthesised itemsPlace in a Resonator to influence item crafting. to duplicate items. Both methods cannot be applied to an item with a split modifier or cannot be split due to game design (such as Synthesised, Enchanted, Fractured or Influenced items).

Splitting adds a “Split" modifier to both items: the "master" and "copy". The split modifier cannot be removed. Thus, the "master" item cannot have transferred mod(s) restored via imprint.

Items with the Split modifier can craft normally (unlike Mirrored and Corrupted modifiers), except that they cannot be further split.

To be specific, items with the Split modifier:

• can be Synthesized (via the Harvest craft)
• can be Fractured (via the Fracturing OrbFracturing OrbStack Size: 20Fracture a random modifier on a rare item with at least 4 modifiers, locking it in placeRight click this item then left click a rare item to apply it. Cannot be used on Influenced, Synthesised or Fractured items. currency)
• can have Imprints created of them (via the Craicic Chimeral beastcraft). The act of splitting an item changes its identity, so an imprint created before the split becomes useless after the split (it cannot be applied to either of the split copies). However, creating an imprint of one of the split copies will work fine, and it can be applied to that item as usual.
• can be chanced into unique item and retain the split modifier
• can be mirrored by using Mirror of KalandraMirror of KalandraStack Size: 10Creates a mirrored copy of an itemRight click this item then left click an equipable non-unique item to apply it. Mirrored copies cannot be modified.

If the item that has been split has a Crucible Passive Skill Tree, both copies of the item will have the same trees.

Version history

Before version 3.14.0, the "master" item did not gain a Split modifier, making it significantly more powerful.

Players were also able to use 5 rare to 1 rare vendor recipe to restore the copies by the fossil into a "clean" base, a craftable base that without Mirrored modifiers. The Fractured Fossil was used to be the only known way to duplicate special basetype such as basetypes of Demigod unique items, which the unique items themselves are race rewards.

After the introduction of Split modifier, it would need 5 "master" items to be "contaminate" with Split modifier to create 1 "clean" copy.
