Speed to you and Allies
You and nearby Allies have +30% to Elemental Resistances
You and nearby Allies deal 30% increased Damage [1]
Commander of Darkness is a Notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Necromancer that grants increased attack speed and cast speed to the user and nearby allies for each non-curse auras cast by user. It also grants increased damage and elemental resistance to you and your allies if they are being affected by your aura.
Mechanics
Each Aura the player has active grants 3% Attack and Cast Speed per aura to the player and Allies. Despite Commander of Darkness's description stating simply "Auras," only non-curse auras will work. The Elemental Resistance and Increased Damage granted by Commander of Darkness is applied only once, and is not classified as an aura, so it cannot be further enhanced.
The speed effects of Commander of Darkness are classified like an aura and are added onto the effects of whatever non-curse auras the player has cast. Thus, the effects that are granted can be further enhanced by the Necromancer's own Aura Effect stat, with the resulting effect always being rounded down to the nearest integer. Cannot support curse auras, or other auras that only affect enemies. Cannot support skills used by totems. Cannot modify the skills of minions.Supported Auras do not affect you
Non-Curse Auras from Supported Skills have (20-39)% increased Effect
Additional Effects From 1-20% Quality:
Supported Skills have (2-40)% increased Aura Area of EffectThis is a Support Gem. It does not grant a bonus to your character, but to skills in sockets connected to it. Place into an item socket connected to a socket containing the Skill Gem you wish to augment. Right click to remove from a socket. will contribute its Increased Aura Effect to the total stat of any auras it supports. This is done on a per aura basis.
For example, a Necromancer with six auras active and 50% Increased Aura Effect will grant 4% Attack and Cast Speed per aura (not 4.5%), granting a total of 24% Increased Attack and Cast Speed. Note the speed is not 27%, as one might initially expect; this is the result of the rounding down per aura. The following table lists several breakpoints in increased Aura Effect for increased speed.
