Immortal Syndicate
The Immortal Syndicate are the primary antagonists of the Betrayal league and the basis of Jun Ortoi's missions. The player must neutralize the Syndicate members residing in the zone, then interrogate them for intelligence on their stronghold and leader, or bargain with them in different ways. Syndicate members can dropped Veiled items, and strongholds can contain various rewards depending on who was stationed, including chance crafting and scarabs.

Investigation Board
Each known Syndicate member on the board will display the following: Rank, Task, and Items.
Ranks are indicated by the number of stars on the top right, going up to 3 stars. Higher ranks give greater rewards, but also makes them tougher by giving them additional items. Rank can be raised by killing them, while interrogating them lowers it. A member must have at least 1 star in order to be assigned to a division and have their reward appear at the safehouse. If a member's rank falls to 0, they will become unassigned.
Tasks are indicated by the text on the bottom. These tasks depend on which division the member is located in. This indicates their reward at the safehouse.
Members can have unique items attached to them. This simply indicates additional modifiers they are given when fighting them.
The board will also show the relationship between Syndicate members. Members that are allied are more likely to assist them in combat, while rivals are more likely to attack or betray them instead.
Each division has a leader, who does not spawn in zones outside of the safehouse while positioned. If the leader loses their rank via negotiations by other members or gets interrogated for information on the Mastermind, they will be replaced with someone else.
Encounter
The Immortal Syndicate consists of four divisions: Fortification, Transportation, Research, and Intervention. The player must defeat the Syndicate member(s) that are present in the zone. Once all members are defeated, you may handle each member in one of two presented options. If multiple members are present, the options may change depending on the order. You may also choose to not do anything with the member if you find both their options to be undesirable, although you will not gain experience or items from killing them.
Possible options are followed:
- Interrogate: Imprison the member and gather information on a division over the next three encounters. They will be removed from the spawn table while being interrogated. Interrogating lowers the rank of the member.
- Execute: Kill the member and raise their rank. If their rank was 0, at the time, they will be assigned to the division of whoever they were assisting currently.
- Bargain: Gain a reward of some kind. Outcomes include gaining a chunk of intelligence, switching divisions, removing themselves from the Syndicate, or dropping items. This option only shows up when only one member is present.
- Betray: Sabotage another member in some way, such as making them rivals, lowering their ranks, or removing them from the Syndicate. This option is only available while there are two members and are not already rivals.
Rewards
Once intelligence in a faction reaches 100%, you may perform a raid on their safehouse. Talk to Jun in your hideout and investigate a safehouse to open 6 portals to the safehouse.
When you attack a Syndicate Safehouse, the Safehouse leader and all his subordinates will defend it. If you defeat them, the treasure room will contain loot depending on who you fought. The notes on the syndicate pages will give you a hint on what you can expect, the below table shows both the hints and the exact reward.
Only the option to interrogate the safehouse leader is available. Interrogating the safehouse leader gives information on the Syndicate Mastermind.
