The alternate quality system was removed in Version 3.23.0.
Skill gems and support gems used to have different quality types: Superior (default), Anomalous, Divergent, and Phantasmal, with the latter three types of qualities exclusively obtainable from Heist. Not all gems had all four quality types. It could not grant the gem a quality effect it already has. Some of these qualities altered the stats of the gem in drastic ways.
