Pinnacle Bosses refer to specific bosses that have their own boss zones (and usually have Atlas passive skills naming them directly)[1].
The following is a current list of Pinnacle Bosses:
- The Searing Exarch
- The Eater of Worlds
- The Black Star
- The Infinite Hunger
- The Maven
- Sirus, the Awakener
- Uber Elder
- Shaper
- Elder
Some Eldritch Implicit modifiers have effects that only activate while "in the presence of a Pinnacle Boss".
It is unknown if Atziri, Oshabi, or Venarius are also considered Pinnacle Bosses, or if the modifier effects function in 
Maven's Invitation: The FearedMaven's Invitation: The FearedModifiers to Item Quantity will affect the number of encounter rewards dropped
