Map fragment: Difference between revisions

Map fragments are items that can be used in a map device to open portals to various high level areas. There are four sets of each four different types of fragments and one of each type is required and placed in the right order to access the area.

Fragment sets

Vaal fragments

The regular sacrifice Vaal fragments are required to open a portal to Module Error: No results found for item using search term "item_name = the Apex of Sacrifice", where the player can encounter Queen Atziri and her four unique subordinates. The fragments can only be obtained from Vaal Vessels in corrupted areas or from bosses in corrupted maps. The drop ratios within the fragments are about 4:3:2:1. With a 50% chance of a Vaal skill gem dropping, the chances are 20% for Dusk, 15% for Dawn, 10% for Noon and 5% for Midnight.^[1]

Advanced Vaal fragments

The advanced mortal fragments are required to open a portal to Module Error: No results found for item using search term "item_name = the Alluring Abyss" and are only to be obtained from Queen Atziri.

Prophecy fragments

The key fragments are required to open a portal to Module Error: No results found for item using search term "item_name = the Pale Court". They can be obtained by completing certain prophecy chains.

Atlas fragments

The four Atlas fragments are required to open a portal to The Shaper's RealmThe Shaper's RealmMap Level: 84
Map Tier: 17
Guild Character: ¥Travel to this Map by using it in a personal Map Device. Maps can only be used once.. They can be obtained by defeating the Guardians of the Void.

Fragment of the PhoenixFragment of the PhoenixStack Size: 10Enter the crucible. The nexus of

Divine Vessel

Unique Boss has 10% increased Life
Unique Boss has 20% increased Area of EffectPower is a curious thing.
It can be contained, hidden, locked away,
and yet it always breaks free.Can be used in a personal Map Device, allowing you to capture the Soul of the Map's Boss. The Vessel containing the captured Soul can be retrieved from the Map Device. You must be in the Map when the boss is defeated.s are not used to instance areas, but it can be placed with another map to capture the map boss's soul, which can then be used to upgrade a Pantheon power.

Map quantity

If the player places a fragment along with a map into the map device, the map will have an additional 5% quantity of dropped items. Mortal fragments grant 10% quantity. Multiple fragments can be used to stack extra quantity. Multiples of the same fragment will not work.

Corrupted areas

Vaal fragments can be placed on the map device on its own to instance a random corrupted area. Adding more fragments increases the item quantity of the area, the same way it works with maps. As long as they aren't placed in the correct arrangement, a full set of fragments will open a corrupted area with 15% increased item quantity. Corrupted areas created with fragments can drop map-exclusive unique items.

The level of the area will depend on the fragment used:
