The chance for a Lapidary Lens to increase a gem's level by 1, without losing quality, is 20.83%, compared to the 12.5% with a {{il|Vaal Orb}}.

1/4 * 1/2 * (2/3+ 1/6) + 5/8 * 1/3 * 1/2 = 5/48 + 5/48 = 20.83%.
It is capable of creating, and the only way to acquire gems that fulfill '''two''' of the three following:
Respectively: odds of hitting level change on first corruption * The odds of it being +1 level change * (the odds of hitting non-quality change on the second corruption + the odds of hitting positive quality change) + the odds of hitting non-level change or a positive quality change on the first corruption * the odds of hitting level change on the second corruption * the odds of it being +1 level change
* Level 21  (or otherwise 1 level higher than its normal maximum level)

* Quality of 21-23
Noteworthy combination chances:
* Vaal version

+1 Level and + Quality = 4.167% (3.75% for 23% quality)

+1 Level and - Quality = 4.167%

+1 Level and Nothing = 8.333%

+1 Level and Vaal if able* = 8.333%

-1 Level and + Quality = 4.167% (3.75% for 23% quality)

+ Quality and Nothing = 8.333% (7.5% for 23% quality)

+ Quality and Vaal if able* = 8.333% (7.5% for 23% quality)

Only Vaal if able* = 16.667%

*If a gem doesn't have a vaal option, then it does nothing and it's chance is added to doing nothing.

Doryani's Institute is the tier 3 incursion room of Zalatl, Architect of Thaumaturgy.

The Lapidary Lens, when used, acts similarly to using two Vaal Orbs at once. It is unknown exactly in what manners it is restricted. It can achieve a result where both the vaal orb rolls cause nothing to happen.[1]

It is capable of creating, and the only way to acquire gems that fulfill two of the three following:

  • Level 21 (or otherwise 1 level higher than its normal maximum level)
  • Quality of 21-23
  • Vaal version

Lore
