Ancient Orb

Ancient Orb is a currency item obtained by combining a full stack of 
Ancient ShardsAncient ShardStack Size: 20A stack of 20 shards becomes an Ancient Orb.
(which are dropped by harbingers in the harbinger league). It can be used to reforge a unique item to another of the same item class in the broader sense of the term, such as "flask" (instead of life/mana/hybrid/utility flask)[1]. This means the base item type can change when the orb is applied.
[Confirmation needed regarding one handed/two handed melee weapons and thrusting swords in particular.]
