I had removed all the info regarding ilvl as it is uncertain.

, the result of using an Ancient Orb is not restricted by item level.[1] Therefore, a unique with a high item level requirement (like Module Error: Item link: No results found for search parameter "Skyforth".) may be obtained from any unique item of the appropriate class, regardless of the base's item level. Similarly, when attempting to obtain a unique that drops at low item levels (like Module Error: Item link: No results found for search parameter "Taste of Hate".), no advantage is gained by using a low item level base. Unlike the Orb of Chance, the Ancient Orb is able to reforge sockets and links on the item.
However, from at least version 3.2.0 Ancient Orbs are to some degree restricted by item level or at least influenced by it. This can be useful to boost the chances to get a desired lower level unique (like Module Error: Item link: No results found for search parameter "Headhunter". or Module Error: Item link: No results found for search parameter "Lycosidae".).[2][3]
It should be noted that using Ancient Orb on Shaper or Elder items will remove the influence.
Moreover, new video that claim it is not restricted by ilvl,[4] was using a very low ilvl belt, and the item had change to another item, so such forcing the item to change to another item that had ilvl lower than min level to equip, is not sufficient to say it is not restricted by ilvl unless the video shown a ilvl 2 belt can change to much rarer very high ilvl belt. - ok, someone added the ilvl of the fated version is the cap, so for belt: ilvl 48 is the cap for using ilvl 40 base (since Module Error: Item link: No results found for search parameter "The Tactician". requires ilvl 48). Haven't spam the rest of my orbs but yeah the urban legend of blocking high drop level item may be right.
