We are moving builds to Exile Pro database and forums because they offer a great compliment to the wiki. It's also Curse affiliated, so there should be no problems integrating the site further. Any mention of character builds should be redirected to that site.

Pure Elemental Bow Shadow

Overview This is a high dps min-max build designed for diabolically efficient farming. It in no way is intended for HC. If you like playing rogues & top dps classes where you sacrifice defense for more offense, this method is for you. Passive Skills 90 Points taken. This would be considered a final build. This is identical to the build I used for months and months in CB. Updated & taken a few skills further for OB. Not gonna lie, it looks very strong. Passive Skills while levelling 29 points taken. 59 points in. At this point we are close to linking the build in a circle. Once this happens we can refund 6 points. Now only 60 points used. Skills & Support Gems Ice Shot Items Weapons Gear Gameplay Tips Kill all the Bandits. Killemall. You will flog yourself at lvl 75 as penance to atone for your failure if you let one live. You don't have to use CI if you are a witch/shadow/templar. High ES & 65% recovery gets annoyingly expensive. Stack HP from gear & passives. Interestingly, that lil 12% HP node just south of the shadow start makes HP shadow/ranger an attractive option. Max your resistances (or 60%+) to overcome not investing in any defensive nodes. You don't have to invest in many defensive nodes. Have a specific ring for each resistance with 60%+ for heavy +% elemental dmg map mods. 2k hp 1500 es 10% dr 75/75/75 & an overwhelmingly destructive offensive barrage gets it done. 20% MAX (in this order) , , . High % Ice Shot will annoy the hell out of anyone in pvp not immune to chilled. & Ice Shot are swappable in any linked combination with this build. Farm lower lvl maps & content with Ice Shot & Chain & & a Quiver with Projectile Speed % Rely on Soul Siphon & + mana on kill gear. (I go into detail on how to do this low lvl above Buy Wake of Destruction boots asap. +Lightning will increase dps more than any other element. Use + to clear out pesky high ES Necros. & anyone without CI in pvp. High rarity = more rares= chance for rares with mf = Alch Shards = Alchs. You are either levelling or you are farming. Never do both & expect people to feel sympathetic when you die. Much grief will be avoided by remembering this. People who complain about never getting uniques & say they have good mf are either grossly inefficient when clearing content & need to kill more mobs faster or are complaining too much instead of killing more mobs that drop uniques. Chain currently has a 100% hit rate. Anyone can strike it rich at any time. Don't use orbs with names one would use to describe an angel. Exalted Orbs are a rich player's plaything. Sell em for Gemcutters Prisms. For the love of pete use your GCP on supports like weapon elemental damage/culling strike/chain if they arent 20% Weapon elemental damage quality % is the single highest dps boost from a support for this spec. Ranged Attack Totems linked with ice shot & you cursing with elemental weakness makes for a kitable boss with reflect elemental damage. Find or make a 10%+ Rejuvenation Totem. Name it. This is your meatshield & best friend. This is your companion cube. You do not get your IIR/IIQ bonus when Poison Arrow's cloud kills an enemy. Ranged Attack Totem + Death's Harp = an extra arrow. Ranged Attack Totem + Death's Harp + GMP = 7 Arrows Build submitted by Tyranthal

Mace Shield LS Templar

Intro Click to load content The playstyle of a lightning strike Templar is in a word, AWESOME. If you like using big shields, being up in the face of the enemy, and smashing everything in sight you're going to love being a LS mace/shield Templar. Nothing fancy. Just lots of lightning and death. Overview Templar's have easy access to nodes which improve the effectiveness of shields, maces, and elemental damage. Combined these nodes lead to a tanky high hit point Templar which can dish out great AOE lightning damage. Passive Skills Final Build Link to the final build -Revised by Projarrod. Past 30 points it's up to your discretion which direction you want to build first. If you're a new player reading this and feel overwhelmed, don't worry. Once you get 30 skill points you're going to have a much better understanding of the game mechanics which will give you a more clear direction to take your build. For example I find that my character is suffering hugely from a low % to hit so I'm going to take the Resolute Technique keystone before level 40. After that I plan to take the armor and health nodes at the left side of the skill tree and the shield nodes after that. Alternate build without resolute technique Made by Ganrao, if geared correctly with good accuracy and critical hit items then this build will have far superior DPS to the above build. A little less tanky, but overall a good tradeoff in defense/health for DPS. Especially for softcore. Alternate Resolute Technique Templar Build Passive Bonuses (Based on 111 skill points)of the above build. Submitted by user Sarriss Health - 206% boost Shield Block - 22% Shield Defense - 65% Block Recovery Rate - 50% faster Resistances - 78% + 5% to all maximum Reduced Mana Reservation - 10% Reducted Mana Cost - 17% Aura Area of effect - 10% Increased Effect on Buffs - 30% Shock duration - 45% Chance to shock - 20% Mana Regeneration Rate - 60% Increased Armour% - 104% Increased ES% - 104$% Cast Speed - 6% Health Regeneration - 1% Melee Damage - 102% Elemental Damage - 90% Passive Skills while leveling Link to 30 point build. Past 30 points it's again up to your discretion which direction you want to build first. If you're a new player reading this and feel overwhelmed, don't worry. Once you get 30 skill points you're going to have a much better understanding of the game mechanics which will give you a more clear direction to take your build. I recommend taking the Resolute Technique keystone before level 40. It increased my DPS from about 350 to 500+ with that one skill node. Getting rid of a 20-30% miss rate is very satisfying. Past that I recommend just grabbing a healthy mix of health, armor, shield, and mace nodes. Always try to shore up your weaknesses in defenses before going after offensive stats. Skills & Support Gems Lightning Strike - You can pick this up from a quest around level 10. It is an attack skill so it bases its damage on your melee stats(your physical weapon, % to hit, attacks per second stats). It converts a percentage of your physical damage to lightning damage. When the skill lands it shoots out three lightning arcs which are guaranteed to hit any mobs they come across(this means the separate lightning strikes don't have separate rolls to see whether they land or hit, they will always hit as long as your primary strike landed as a hit). Support Gem Options for Lightning Strike: - Will generally increase your DPS the most out of all the support gems. - Very useful. Especially if you run more than one aura(ex. Tempest Shield + Wrath, or Wrath + Clarity) - Great for increasing your AOE effectiveness - Always a good option for any attack skill. - Doesn't give as big of a DPS boost as Weapon Elemental Damage, but can be stacked with Weapon Elemental Damage as long as you can handle the mana costs. - Both LMP and GMP are good for increasing the damage of your projectiles for increased AOE capabilities. Don't stress too much if you can't find all the right support gems. Use what you come across, try different combinations out, there is not one set of support gems that are superior to the rest, it really comes down to your equipment build and personal preferences. Tempest Shield - This makes you do lightning damage to attackers anytime you block with a shield. On my first play-through right now I'm level 33 and still haven't found the Tempest Shield skill. So don't worry too much if you don't find the skill right away. You probably won't start using mace/shields exclusively until you're 40+ anyways. While farming I like to keep Tempest shield off. The biggest benefit of Tempest shield is the increased % to block. The DPS it adds to you is less then that of Wrath, and it becomes mana prohibitive to run both Wrath and Tempest Shield so I like to run Wrath most of the time and then Tempest shield when I go against bosses or higher level maps. Added Lightning Damage is a good support gem for Tempest Shield. Reduced Mana is also useful. Wrath - This is an aura that adds lightning damage to your attacks(and anyone else in your party). It's a good boost of DPS and can be picked up from a quest in Act 2. Wrath is the primary aura I run. The added DPS helps your overall leveling and farming efficiency greatly. The only time you don't want to run Wrath is when you're running Tempest Shield and can't spare the mana. Ideally if you can run both and still have mana to function that's the best option. Keep an eye out on the int requirements as you level Wrath. You'll want to stop at level 7(60 in required) until you've picked up enough Int nodes to cover the increasing intelligence costs. Decoy Totem - This totem can be picked up in Act 1 from a quest and is very useful when you're leveling. I've found it to be very useful in fighting tough rare/boss mobs. You can run around, drop the totem, and then get three to four good hits in on the mob before it kills your totem. Then just run away and repeat the process. - Good skill for single target DPS that you can pick up early on while leveling. Depending on the layout of your support gems this may or may not do more DPS than your lightning strike later on in the game. But if it does do more DPS then use it over lightning strike when fighting single opponents. - Can be a useful aura to run if you have mana issues. If used in conjunction with Tempest Shield or Wrath it can leave you with a very small working mana pool, but with a few +% mana regeneration items that small mana pool can be totally sufficient for your skills. If that is the case it will free up some mana flasks for more health or utility flasks. Be careful when leveling Clarity. Each level of clarity increases the mana reserved by 20(it starts out with a mana reserve of 60). For a Templar I don't think it's worth leveling Clarity beyond level four or five. Items Weapons Look for weapons with high +% physical damage. Added elemental damage is great as well. Basically, highest physical + elemental damage wins out. Before you hit cruel difficulty you can use any weapon type that you find. Staffs, swords, hammers. One hand, two hand. It's all good. Use whatever you can find that gives you the most DPS output. Once you hit cruel difficulty start looking into finding a good one hander and a shield. The shield's extra armor and resists are critical to survivability with this build in cruel and merciless difficulties. It's not necessary to get a mace until you actually start investing points in the mace skill nodes. Armor Ideally you want armor that give both armor and energy shield- because you'll be taking lots of skill nodes that give +% armor and energy shield. But as you level it's fine to use armor that's pure armor. Again equip the things with the best stats even if they're not perfect for the build. Avoid pure energy shield and evasion items. Try to get +health on every piece that you can. +health is a fantastic stat because of all the skill nodes that increase health as a percentage. Run-speed on boots will help you level and clear faster. Armor with increased damage of any type scales to your DPS well. For example + 2-7 lightning damage will then get the boosts from your +% elemental damage skill nodes. Rings and Amulets Your first priority with rings is to fill in gaps in your resistances. If you only have 20% resist to fire it is better to give up some DPS and health on a ring to gain 25% fire resist. After that just look for all the normal stats, +health, +damage, +attack speed. This build calls for resolute technique so ignore accuracy and critical hit. Amulets are a real toss-up. Just find the best amulets you can that give you the biggest boosts to health and DPS. If you run into mana issues amulets with +% mana regeneration can be very helpful, especially when coupled with the skill clarity. Resistances Resists are a must and should be stacked whenever possible. The biggest mistake I see from people posting on the forums is that they completely neglect elemental resists. If you have 25% resist to fire, adding an additional 25% resist to fire cuts the damage you take from fire in HALF. That's HUGE and should not be overlooked. It is well worth sacrificing DPS and health to boost resistances. Strive to keep all of your resistances aside from Chaos) above 60%. Flasks Always have at least two health flasks. If you can manage to get a combination of clarity and mana regen items to keep your mana full without flasks then that is ideal. Otherwise I run two mana flasks as well and my third flask slot I use a Granite Flask. The +4,000 to armor on a Granite Flask will save your ass in a dangerous situation and will allow you to tank through damage. Gameplay Tips Build submitted by Thehealthygamer

Eldritch Battery Ethereal Knives Shadow

Intro Click to load content What is this build about? It's a build that focuses on building the shadow around an unconventional HP/Str build as opposed to the usual CI/Int/ES build, focusing on HP, HP regen and Armour as defense and using ES as a mana buffer instead of the traditional protection purpose while using Ethereal Knives as the main AoE skill with Bear Traps as the main single target DPS skills versus bosses and in PvP scenarios. Defensive skills include Frost Wall and the curse of choice is Projectile Weakness. Overview Pros and Cons of this Build Pros An extremely fun and strong build to play solo High survivability, with high HP and HP regen Can be used in blood magic and chaos damage maps Cons Relatively weaker in groups due to the need to spam more, resulting in higher mana usage Might find it a bit difficult-going mana wise, but that can be countered by the mana leech support Bear Traps require some skill to use, might take a while to get used to it Usable in Hardcore Default 1 Week HC Races PvP I have a HC Ethereal Knives character at the moment, he is currently level 78 and is residing in the HC League after managing to reach Level 70 during the 1 Week HC Race within 1 day and 8 hours of gameplay. Kaom's for the HP, and to make up for the loss of sockets, the usage of QR which being a dex item will allow you to get the socket colours that you need as well as providing a 100% projectile speed increase which will be absolutely awesome! Broadstroke Heavy Quiver will also help to increase EK's DPS and enable stunlocking of enemies. Can't wait to have someone try this out come OB when Kaom's Hearts get more common due to the increase in population How do I get better gear? Trading for better pieces of gear will be your main source. However, there will come a point when you realise that you can no longer get better gear through trading, and that is where crafting comes in, as explained in the next section. Gameplay Tips Early-Game Single Target DPS Bear Trap doesn't really perform that well early on in the game. I usually just dual wield weapons and use Dual Strike for single-target DPS in normal Act1 + 2. (at this point it doesn't really matter, Normal tends to be simple enough that you can bum around and still get through adequately) Early-Game AoE EK can be used, but the problem with EK early on is that it's DPS scaling early on doesn't give it that much advantage over Freezing Pulse. Add to the fact that it has a slower cast time, I usually level the gem in a swapped out weapon's socket and use Freezing Pulse as my main AoE. This holds true till Level 15 At this point, you should have already reached Cavern of Wrath and taken the Fork support gem. From this point on, EK + Fork starts to get stronger and arguably better than FP. Use whichever you prefer. After doing Weaver's Chambers, the support gem that you should pick at this point is Faster Projectiles. From this point on, link EK with Fork and Faster Projectiles. From level 26 or so onwards, EK linked with the above supports will start to outperform Freezing Pulse completely and I usually ditch Freezing Pulse at this point. If you get the Added Fire Damage support, link it to Bear Trap for now. Linking it to EK will increase the mana cost too much without it being that much useful yet. (Even without Added Fire Damage support on EK you will still mostly be two/three-shotting mobs) When do I start using Chain? Chain is not a priority. You can do very well with Fork all the way till Merciless hence there's no need to trade for it early on. However, when you finally do obtain Chain and want to use it, you are advised to swap out Fork for Chain and Faster Projectiles for Mana Leech on a 4L to ensure that you can sustain your EK in terms of mana. Do you have mana problems? Go down the following checklist: Change your 3 HP/2 Mana Flasks set to 2 HP/3 Mana Flasks Stop spamming your mana flasks simultaneously. Doing that doesn't increase mana recovery! Alternate between the three mana flasks so all three can recover charges simultaneously Are you spamming EK at individual monsters? Round them up first as a pack then use EK. Using Chain without Mana Leech support? Remove Chain and go back to Fork Remove Added Fire Damage support. If your mana can't support it you don't need it yet! Did you follow the skill tree progression properly? Usage of Flasks Granites to be used versus reflect physical mobs at ALL TIMES! as well as versus the usual physical damage mobs Auras and Active Skills Determination, Vitality, Hatred, Discipline, Grace. Determination and Vitality for end-game survivability Grace for early-game survivability --> can be used in end-game as well if you have enough mana Hatred for adding DPS to your EK and Bear Traps Discipline for early-game survivability and end-game mana pool Curses Projectile weakness will complement this build nicely because it enhances projectile damage (EK is a projectile) as well as increasing pierce and knockback chance, with knockback being useful as it can be a offensively defensive measure. Versus Mobs Ethereal Knives will be your main skill. Some pointers to take note regarding EK Best EK support combinations, in descending order EK + Added Fire Damage + Chain/Fork + Faster Projectiles + Iron Will + Mana Leech/Reduced Mana EK + Added Fire Damage + Chain/Fork + Faster Projectiles/Mana Leech + Iron Will EK + Added Fire Damage + Fork + Faster Projectiles EK + Fork + Faster Projectiles Note: It is highly likely that Fork will outperform Chain for the first few levels of the Chain skill gem. I recommend you keep Chain in a swapped out weapon slot to level it first while you stick to Fork. 1v1 Bosses Bear Trap. Useful because of its extremely high single-target DPS and the fact that it locks enemies in place, thus allowing you to EK them from afar without having to kite. Also immensely useful for taking out the reflect physical bosses as damage dealt by bear traps isn't reflected back to the user. Interesting point: If you have multiple bear trap gems, you can spam them more often as the cool down is individual to each skill gem alone and not global, although that may change anytime when the devs see fit to change it Nice Bear Trap support combinations Bear Trap + Added Fire Damage + Culling Strike is basically your must have core. The fourth can be anything that adds damage, such as added lightning damage or added chaos damage although i'm leaning slightly more towards added chaos damage. Whatever support that adds damage will in turn be further amplified by bear trap's 150% damage effectiveness. Survivability Skelly Brotem. Yes, I call it brotem because its your best friend in the game, be it versus flicker mobs, kraityn, oak or even random smelly bears. Frost Wall. Erects a barrier protecting you from advancing mobs/archers and allowing you to still hit them with EK because Fork and Chain bounces off the Frost Wall to hit them. Build submitted by Invalesco

• Adding animated gif of skill in use.
• Proper categorisation.
• Adding historical data.

Quests

• Quest pages need a major overhaul to bring them in line with the Quest Rewards page. We need to get templates set up so that content duplication is easy across multiple pages.
• Quests need to clearly indicate previous and next quests in the story.

Unique Items

• Make sure every unique item has it's own page, this will be increasingly important as GGG add the 200+ they have planned.

Adding New Languages

We get a lot of inquiries about adding new languages to the site, this section will help guide you through the process of what we need in order to implement these new sections.

If you would like to translate a page, first please let the head admin know on his talk page: Iamacyborg talk.

The steps for translating are the following:

• Create a new page with "/languagecode" added to the end of the pagename of the page you wish to translate. ie. If you want to translate the page "Templar" to Spanish, you would create page "Templar/es". For a list of Language codes, please see: http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/code_list.php
• At the bottom of the page edit, add the page to the category: [[Category:LANGUAGECODE Translation]]. ie. Translating a page to Spanish would have [[Category:ES Translation]] added to the bottom of the edit. This will put all translated pages into a single category.
• If the main page and all pages linked to from the main page are translated a sub-domain will be set up for that translation. ie. A translated Spanish wiki would be at es.pathofexilewiki.com. Those who did the translating will be given admin access to this sub-domain.

We also hope that you can keep an eye on the wiki to prevent vandals, etc.
