when Witnessing Map Bosses
The number of additional Bosses summoned is higher if there
are fewer monsters remaining in the Map
Modifiers to the Final Map Boss in each Map also apply to these summoned Bosses [1]
Destructive Play is an Atlas keystone passive skill.
Mechanics
Destructive Play causes the Maven to always use the skill "Up the Stakes", which summons 1-3 additional random bosses when witnessing a map boss in a map. Modifiers to Final Map Bosses apply to these summoned bosses which includes the following:
- Remnants of the Past: Shaper Guardian map
- Vivid Memories: Synthesis unique map
- Maven Invitation Drop Chance: Maven's Invitation
- Atlas Currency Chance: Map currency
- Atlas Scarab Chance: Scarab
These additional bosses do not count towards having been witnessed by the Maven.
Defeating the map boss before the Maven casts the skill will prevent the additional bosses from spawning.
- In a Conqueror map, if the Maven is unable to cast the skill on the default map boss, it will instead cast it inside the Conqueror's arena.
- In an Elder Guardian map, Maven uses the skill only in the Elder Guardian's third/final phase.
Caution is advised as the Maven can randomly summon bosses with a corpse explosion skill such as Maligaro the Mutilator, Tolman, the Exhumer, or Kalria, the Risen.
Ruthless mode
In Ruthless mode, the Maven only has a 20% chance to summon additional random bosses.
Location
As of version 3.22.0 it is located near the top of the Atlas passive skill tree inside the Maven cluster.
