Clients in this section are officially supported by GGG.
PC
The following PC clients are supported on Windows operating system only.
- Path of Exile Standalone Client
- International Path of Exile Steam Client
- Hotcool Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Path of Exile Client
- Tencent Mainland China Path of Exile Client
For the Standalone and Steam clients, the available servers and their approximate locations to choose from on the login screen are listed in the following table.

Console
The console versions of Path of Exile have the same User Interface as when using a controller on the PC client.

Features
Not all clients have the same features when comparing to the Path of Exile Standalone Client.
Path of Exile Standalone Client features (baseline)
- Language support: Selectable from English, Portuguese, Russian, Thai, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Japanese
- Input modes: mouse + keyboard, controller
- Different user interface depending on the used input mode
- Gateway selection: Ability to manually select Gateway / server
International Path of Exile Steam Client changes from baseline
- Gateway selection: Steam can use region locking which can prevent selecting certain gateways
Hotcool Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Path of Exile Client changes from baseline
- Language support: Traditional Chinese only
- Gateway selection: Fixed to Taiwan
Tencent Mainland China Path of Exile Client changes from baseline
- Language support: Simplified Chinese only
- Gateway selection: Fixed to Mainland China
- Gameplay differences:
- Option to have a pet that auto-collects currency [citation needed]
- Dedicated inventory slots for Portal Scrolls and Scrolls of Wisdom [citation needed]
- One free respec during campaign [citation needed]
- Planner for passive skill tree [citation needed]
Console clients changes from baseline
- Language support: Uses console language if supported, with fallback to English. No in-game option to choose a language.
- Mouse + keyboard input mode is not supported
- Re-binding controller buttons is not supported

- Technical differences:
- There are two variants of the console client. One that targets 1080P resolution with medium textures, and one that targets 4K resolution with high textures.[2]
- PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S and Xbox One S use the variant with 1080P resolution and medium textures
- Xbox Series X and Xbox One X use the variant with 4K resolution and high textures
- The game is not affected by the output resolution of your console/tv. It renders at intended resolution and the image is downscaled/upscaled by the console after that.
