The Lake of Kalandra

The Lake of Kalandra is an area found in the Kalandra League. Players can use Mirrored Tablets to create paths leading to treasure or enhancement that make the Lake's shrouded waters more rewarding the deeper you go, but also make the encounters more difficult.

Mirrored Tablet

Every area and map you enter in 3.19 may have a Mirrored Tablet used for constructing your Lake of Kalandra. Each Tablet allows you to place 1-3 Reflections (Encounters) on the Lake, and completely filling it allows you to run it and reap the rewards you've worked for.

Monster Reflections

Tiles contain packs of monsters with one Unique named "Effigy of X", based on existing Unique Monsters.

Defeating around 95% of the tile's monsters spawns a Submerged Chest with random rewards that scales with difficulty.

League Reflections

Tiles contain various encounters from other Challenge Leagues, including Extra Content and Masters. The encounter's respective rewards scale with difficulty.

  • Contains foes from the Druids of the Broken Circle. Unique: Llyr, Loyal Familiar
• Reflection of Torment: (Difficulty scales quantity of Items dropped by Possessed or Touched Monsters)
  • Contains Tormented Spririts; all monster packs are Rare
• Reflection of Delve: (Difficulty scales quantity of Sulphite mined)
  • Contains veins of Voltaxic Sulphite
• Reflection of the Harbingers:
  • Contains 3 additional Harbingers
• Reflection of Entrapment: (Difficulty scales quantity of items from Strongboxes)
  • Contains 5 additional Strongboxes
  • Contains 5 additional Strongboxes; Stongboxes are Rare and Corrupted
• Reflection of Occultism:
  • Contains 3 additional Shrines
  • Contains 3 additional Shrines; 100% increased effect of Shrine Buffs on Players
• Reflection of Imprisonment: (Difficulty scales chance for Imprisoned Monsters to have additional Essences)
  • Contains 3 additional Essences
  • Contains 3 additional Essences; Essences are a tier higher; Imprisoned Essences have a Remnant of Corruption

Tablet Powers

These powers can be used a set number of times per Tablet. Additional uses of these powers can be earned by completing certain encounters at the required difficulty.

  • 3rd use: Breach Reflection at difficult 8+
• Skip this choice. At the next choice, you'll be offered a new set. (If this is your last of set of choice, closes the tablet for this instance.)
  • 2nd use: Harbinger Reflection at difficulty 6+
  • 3rd use: Shrine Reflection at difficult 8+
• Reroll this list of choices to a new set.
  • 2nd use: Legion Reflection at difficulty 8+
  • 3rd use: Beyond Reflection at difficult 10+

Rewards

Reflecting Mist

Sometimes, Kalandra may appear in the Lake of Kalandra, and create a Reflecting Mist upon completing the encounter, offering you a choice between two mirrored rare rings or amulets with unusual mods. Some are scaled-up versions of existing modifiers, while others are strong negative versions of the same modifier. The rings provide inverse stats; a negative mod on one ring is positive on the other. The magnitude of the modifiers is dependent on the difficulty of the completed encounter. You may only pick one of these items to take.

Sometimes, it may offer a ring basetype exclusive to the Lake of Kalandra and likewise contains alternate effects based on which ring slot they are equipped into:

Ethereal Reflecting Mist

Rarely, you may be offered the choice to Reflect your own ring or amulet and distort it in a similar process. Again, you may only keep one of the resultant items. Influenced, Synthesised, Corrupted, Mirrored, or Unique rings and amulets cannot be Reflected this way.

Lore

Some encounters contain Ancient Etchings which provide lore surrounding Kalandra and her lake.

Trivia

The Lake of Kalandra appears to be inspired by the Giant's Causeway in Ireland.
