Spells

Is there a list of all skill gems that are spells? -AnnanFay (talk) 01:55, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

There should be a set of Categories for each gem type/tag, but I don't think it's been implemented yet. -- Nightblade (talk) 03:58, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Are you looking for Category:Spells? It should be complete. I did the categories on every skill and support gem. —Vinifera7 (talk) 04:06, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Cool :) -AnnanFay (talk) 04:09, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
There's some missing I think (Freeze Mine?). I really ment to say it would be good if the gems were auto-categorised by their templates. -- Nightblade (talk) 04:28, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
If the category is about the classification Spell then it's not complete, Devouring Totem and Molten Shell are missing for example. --Goliath (talk) 04:38, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Category/Classification/Type... not sure what it's officially called. The list of keywords that are displayed when you hover over a gem in the inventory. For example Arc is "Lightning, Spell, Chaining"
I would call them keywords. They are there to let you know which support gems work with what. Categories are a wiki thing. This page "Spell" should describe what a spell is, which it does although it's a it short. — Malice (talk) 05:53, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
GGG is using classification/classified in the patch notes but i personally don't mind when you want to call it Type/Keywords/Category. --Goliath (talk) 11:27, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Isn't there a one to one pairing between gem classifications/keywords and wiki categories? -AnnanFay (talk) 18:09, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Not exactly. For example, there is no classification for Category:Ranged attack skills, but the categorization is implied by what those skills do. For example, Burning Arrow has the classifications "Fire", "Attack", and "Bow", while the categories for it are "Dexterity skills", "Ranged attack skills", "Projectile skills", and "Fire skills". There is no "Bow skills" category, and there shouldn't be since Category:Ranged attack skills fulfills that purpose. The classification "Bow" is somewhat strange in that it implies the classification "Projectile" and also that the skill can be only used with a Bow. The other classifications don't follow that scheme. You'll notice that Power Siphon does not have the classification "Wand". —Vinifera7 (talk) 19:26, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
If I was a Ranger I would find it very useful to have a list of all skills that are Bow skills so I know which ones I can use. This page would either need to be manually edited to add all the relevant skills, or a new category "Bow skills" would need to be made. Another reason to match keywords with categories is items that have "+1 to Level of Bow Gems in this item". I can't think of any classifications/keywords which won't need a wiki-category or a page listing them. -AnnanFay (talk) 21:09, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
I'd like to add, that the original reason for me coming to the Spell page was to find a list of all gems classified as Spell. -AnnanFay (talk) 21:11, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Take a look at the Melee Skills page. The same idea could be used for a Ranged Attack Skills page. It would show you a list of ranged attack skills that can be used with bows, and another list for wands. Also, if you want to improve the Spell page, please do so. —Vinifera7 (talk) 23:00, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
