Two-Stone Ring dilemma

There are 3 distinct "Two-Stone" rings all utilizing the same name. There are Ruby/Sapphire, Ruby/Topaz and Sapphire/Topaz versions. How are we going to work this out? - FaceLicker (talk) 01:09, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure yet. I haven't played enough of the new version to see one of these. —Vini (t|c) 01:20, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
I see three options:
  1. Leave the page as it is
  2. Display three separate item boxes
  3. Split into three articles (i.e. "Two-Stone Ring (Fire/Cold)")
In all cases there should be a note in the article about this items peculiarity. The first option might be a bit confusing, but with an explanation in the article it wouldn't be that bad. The second option might break on transclusion. The third one has the drawback of having three articles with redundant information. By the way, I'm curious as to whether it's possible to change one type into another with a Divine OrbDivine OrbStack Size: 20Randomises the values of the random modifiers on an itemRight click this item then left click a magic, rare or unique item to apply it.. -Oracle of truth (talk) 01:44, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
Option 3 seems like the simplest and the one that might make the most sense, so long as all three pages are clearly linked with one another. Combining all 3 types leads to a Prismatic RingPrismatic RingRequires Level 30+(8-10)% to all Elemental Resistances, not sure what rolling them with a Divine OrbDivine OrbStack Size: 20Randomises the values of the random modifiers on an itemRight click this item then left click a magic, rare or unique item to apply it. would do. Creating 3 articles, then having them redirect to sections on this page sounds like it will work. I hate the ambiguity of linking these distinct base items to the same place. A section with the vendor recipes would also be useful. Ionface (talk) 23:03, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Could you change the itembox template to allow for multiple icon images? I would prefer the first option. Magnanimous2 (talk) 09:13, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
I'm sure you meant to say Blessed OrbBlessed OrbStack Size: 20Randomises the values of the implicit modifiers of an itemRight click this item then left click another item to apply it. instead of Divine OrbDivine OrbStack Size: 20Randomises the values of the random modifiers on an itemRight click this item then left click a magic, rare or unique item to apply it. as Blessed Orbs are the ones that reroll implicit mods. In either case, neither currency item will ever change an item's type. The usage for both orbs clearly state that they only reroll numeric values. Never will either orb change Cold Resistance into Fire Resistance or anything else (With the exception of GGG item updates of course. These rings are brand new, however, and so this exception does not apply.) - FaceLicker (talk) 16:08, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
What I've done as a momentary quick fix, I've uploaded a single image with all three versions. We can simply put an explanation of the three rings on the page until we figure out something better and/or more permanent. - FaceLicker (talk) 16:08, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
If needed, I can revise the item templates to do more complex stuff. I'm not yet sure what the best solution is though, so please keep discussing. —Vini (t|c) 16:52, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
I've been thinking about this and from a gameplay perspective it feels like each variation of Two-Stone Ring is actually a separate item with the same name. I'm not stating authoritatively that this is what we should do, but it would be quite simple to create a separate page for each variation. —Vini (t|c) 18:39, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
