with [[File:skilltree_096.jpg]] I have uploaded a newer image of the skilltree. Also slightly outdated, but more actual than the one used there. Original size is scaled down to 1140x1200.

Do we want to separate weapon damage nodes by weapons or collect them all under "Weapon Damage"? The latter seems more viable because otherwise the list/number of pages is going to grow very large. --Aezlo 10:51, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Also, do we want to specifically name every passive as "Increased Accuracy" or do we want to simply list the mechanics of accuracy/all the passives related to it under an "Accuracy" page? --Aezlo 21:21, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I want the Increased Stat nodes listed to in categories and to have for future projects on the skill tree. I would want to start out with just redirection to an anchored part of the current passive skill table for minor nodes. Ionface 01:50, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
I'm actually not clear on how to link to an anchored part of the passive tree. I've tinkered with it a bit, but can't figure it out. If you tell me how, I'll start setting that up. Also, how do you want to categorize the subsets of passive skills? Things like increased stats (Accuracy, Critical Strike Chance, Life, Mana, Weapon Damage, Armour) under one category or separate Weapons, Damage Type, etc? I'm going to be tackling the passives now since we've got a nice group of people handling the skills, so let me know. --Aezlo 23:01, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

New Skill tree

We need a new picture.

New category

I think we should have a category for passives that no longer exist, as deleting them loses part of the history of the game, but they are potentially clogging up particularly the basic passives category with red herrings.

I'm not sure what this category could be called: "Removed passive skills"? --Qetuth-(talk) 02:39, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

I believe this has actually been discussed before, although I can't readily point to where. If memory serves, the thinking at the time was that maintaining pages for passive skills that no longer exist is a rather futile effort in terms of practicality, not to mention it does clutter up the wiki. What I would do is put a note in the deletion log that links to the version (if it is even known) that the passive was removed. That way if someone stumbles upon the page for a removed passive, he can see when it was removed. Keeping the existing passive skills up to date is already a nearly impossible task. Sometimes passive skills get renamed and sometimes they get removed entirely; the distinction is not always obvious either. When it seems pretty clear that a passive was renamed, my practice has been to move the page to the new name and retain the redirects. This is why Conditioning redirects to Blood Siphon for example. —Vini (t|c) 04:37, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

purpose

Aside from bad investments, one possible use I'm wondering for this is that there are points you spend along the way mainly to get to better abilities rather than for their own worth.

For example: after I get Lord of the Dead and Minion Damage, going left requires buying +10 IQ and +10 ST to get to the next Minion Damage and Enduring Bond beyond it.

Once you actually have those, if you don't actually need ST or IQ...

I take it you can refund those, but still keep the abilities they cleared the path to? Tycio (talk) 18:16, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Names of passive skill sizes

The sizes of passive skills described in game are small, notable, and keystone. The wiki mostly refers to small passive skills as "basic" passive skills. The language should be made consistent with what is used in game.—Vini (t|c) 15:07, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
