When I equip both Reckoning and Riposte Trigger Skill Gems, why don't they both always trigger when I block? In the description of the skill gem there is the difference between "block" and "block with your shield", but when do I "block" and when do I "block with my shield"? Isn't there just a global block chance which applies?

Would be grateful for further explanation of the game mechanics concerning this aspect :-)

Reckoning and Riposte both have a Cooldown Time, that's why they don't always trigger when you block. If you put the skill on the skill bar you'll notice that it will be inactive for a while, similarly to Module Error: Too many skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Enduring Cry". Please choose only one of the following ids:
MonsterEnduringCry - Base duration is 1.00 seconds, Regenerate 10% of Life per second, Grants 2 additional Endurance Charges (page)
ExileEnduringCry - Base duration is 1.00 seconds, Regenerate 10% of Life per second, Grants 2 additional Endurance Charges (page)
. There's no difference to the block values, the Reckoning description specifies a shield just because the skill requires you to wear a shield, like Module Error: Too many skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Reave". Please choose only one of the following ids:
WbReaveChaosLeader - (5-30)% chance to gain a Power Charge on Hit, Skills Repeat an additional 3 Times, Deals 25% less Damage, 100% increased Attack Speed, 24% reduced Physical Damage, 80% more Area of Effect for each stage (page)
GemlingReave - 25% increased Attack Speed, 80% more Area of Effect for each stage (page)
can't be used with Axes. --Illviljan (talk) 13:32, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
