Shields offer additional defenses and a chance to block. Only one shield may be equipped at a time, in the offhand slot.
Shields and Body Armours have inherent Movement Speed penalties. In general, all STR Shields come with an '6% reduced Movement Speed' penalty and all other Shields have a '3% reduced Movement Speed' penalty.
Tower shields
Tower shields require Strength to equip and provide the player with a large boost to Armour Rating.
