Quest

The story of Path of Exile progresses through a series of quests, split up into three main acts. There are currently only two acts in the closed beta, and it is required to complete every quest available to progress to higher difficulties.

Act I Quests

Enemy at the Gate

Acquired: Meet Hillock at the end of the Twilight Strand. Objective: Defeat Hillock. Reward: One skill gem from Tarkleigh.

Mercy Mission

Acquired: Talk to Bestel in the Shore Encampent after defeating Hillock, or travel to Tidal Island and defeat Hailrake. Objective: Retrieve the medicine chest from Tidal Island. Reward: One unidentified magic flask from [[Nessa] and one skill gem from Tarkleigh.

A Dirty Job

Acquired: Talk to Tarkleigh after completing Mercy Mission, or travel to the Fetid Pools and locate Kadavrus the Defiler. Objective: Defeat Kadavrus the Defiler and clear the Fetid Pools of his minions. Reward: Two respec points from Tarkleigh.

Breaking Some Eggs

Acquired: Locate a Rhoa Nest within the Mud Flats and retrieve the Glyph within. Objective: Acquire the three Glyphs located within the Mud Flats and bring them to the Glyph Wall. Reward: Access to the Submerged Passage and a skill gem from Tarkleigh.

The Dweller of the Deep

Acquired: Talk to Tarkleigh after completing Breaking Some Eggs, or travel to the Flooded Depths and meet The Deep Dweller. Objective: Defeat The Deep Dweller within the Flooded Depths. Reward: One passive skill point from Tarkleigh.

The Caged Brute

Acquired: Talk to Tarkleigh after reaching The Ledge, or travel to The Warden's Quarters and meet Brutus. Objective: Defeat Brutus within The Warden's Quarters. Reward: One skill gem from Tarkleigh.

The Marooned Mariner

Acquired: Talk to Captain Fairgraves within the Ships Graveyard, or travel to The Ship Graveyard Cave and take the Allflame from the slave girl's corpse. Objective: Travel to The Ship Graveyard Cave and retrive the Allflame from the slave girl's corpse. Return the Allflame to Captain Fairgraves, then defeat him in battle. Reward: One passive skill point from Bestel.

The Siren's Last Cadence

Acquired: Talk to Nessa after reaching the Cavern of Woe, or travel to Merveil's Lair. Objective: Travel to Merveil's Lair and defeat Merveil's first form.
