Divination cards are a new type of item introduced in The Awakening.

Path of Exile Awakening: What Are DIVINATION CARDS? - How Divination Cards Work & Where they Drop

Divination cards drop from monsters and chests. They are stackable, tradeable items that take up 1x1 inventory space. A full set of cards can be vendored to the Act Four NPC Tasuni in exchange for the item referenced on the card. Each card type drops in specific areas of Wraeclast, so farming said area allows for the player to maximize their chances of obtaining the desired item. Additionally, Divination Cards are affected by the drop rate penality.[1] However, there are no drop penalties in maps. Drop penalties (which apply to currency and divination cards only) do not apply after level 68. (So any world area of level 68 or higher is treated as being level 68 for the purposes of penalties.)

Divination cards that give an item with an item level that depends on the player, are capped at item level 82. If a set of divination cards gives a corrupted unique item, then that item will never be rare.[2]
