Path of Exile: The Awakening (also referred to as Path of Exile 2.0) is the third expansion for Path of Exile. It was officially announced by Grinding Gear Games on April 10, 2015[1] and released in a closed beta state on April 20, 2015[2]. After almost three months in beta, The Awakening was launched on July 10, 2015[3]. The highlights of the expansion are the addition of the fourth act, the jewel system and the introduction of Deterministic Lockstep mode.

Jewels

Main page: Jewel

Jewels are items that can be socketed into dedicated jewel nodes on the passive skill tree. They exist in the four rarities and grant bonuses to your character or to other passive skills.

Divination cards

Main page: Divination card

Divination cards are a new type of item that drop in many areas of the game. These cards allow players to systematically work their way to the acquisition of desirable items, without having to rely on random chance alone. Once enough cards are gathered through play or trade, they can be exchanged at Tasuni for a specific item.
