I had a rummage in the history and found the original poster (User:Phlexonance's) version here and it was pretty interesting. It gives a good idea into the intended purpose and scope of the guide. It's quite short but it gets across a lot of good info. It definitely has different emphasis to the current version, which I agree with and would like to work on as a D3 player prior to coming to POE. Hopefully that means more edits from me over the next little while. Techhead7890 (talk) 21:02, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Need to focus the scope of this guide
The original purpose of this guide was only to give Diablo 2 and 3 players a frame of reference for jumping into PoE. That's all. This guide was not intended to be a comprehensive overview of all systems and mechanics in PoE. Things like endgame systems and extra content are out of scope. Over time, this guide has transformed from a Diablo player's guide to PoE to a PoE player's guide to PoE. This guide needs to be refocused, keeping in mind the intended purpose. —Vini (t|c) 13:59, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

A Series of Edits

Active Skills

• The link from 'attack skills' was inaccurately linked to Melee Skills instead of Attack.
• Expanded 'spells do not' to 'spells, traps, totems, and mines do not'.
• Clarified that the gems had to be socketed in equipped items.
• Removed a couple erroneous hyphens.
• Specified that the gems didn't just have level up requirements, but requirements to just plain use them as well.
• (unnecessarily replaced 80+ skill gems with 91, replaced ~50 support gems with 65)
• Swapped out the Blood Magic (Support Gem) link with the Arrogance SupportArrogance SupportAura, Support
Icon: B
Level: (1-20)
Cost & Reservation Multiplier: (220-201)%
Requires Level 31Supports any non-blessing skill with a reservation.Supported Skills have (10-19)% increased Aura effect
Supported Skills Reserve Life instead of Mana

Additional Effects From 1-20% Quality:
Supported Skills have (0.25-5)% increased Aura effect
This is a Support Gem. It does not grant a bonus to your character, but to skills in sockets connected to it. Place into an item socket connected to a socket containing the Skill Gem you wish to augment. Right click to remove from a socket.
link.

Classes

• Edited the stat table to reflect the new 60 point attribute starts (Pure classes now have 32 in their main stat, hybrids now have 23 in their main stats.)
• Edited the stat table to reflect the addition of the Scion.
• Included the requirement for unlocking the Scion.
• Edited the HP/level to match its release buff (+6 -> +8)
• Added the +2 accuracy/level to the level up stat gain.
• Removed outdated 'level 60-ish' comment statement, and gave more relevant advice.

Passive Skills

• Completely reworked the passive skills section. Information and links there were extremely outdated.

Random Hissyfits

• Changed 'currently in open beta' to 'in the game'.
• Reworded 'spells can't be blocked' to 'only attacks can be blocked' to avoid confusion.
• Clarified life leech under resource management from its rather vague state.
• Changed 'Only two leagues' to 'four leagues' and added Domination and Nemesis.

I KEEP FORGETTING TO SIGN THESE! I'm so sorry for all of my unnecessary activity D: FootHands (talk) 11:00, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

I had a rummage in the history and found the original poster (User:Phlexonance's) version here and it was pretty interesting. It gives a good idea into the intended purpose and scope of the guide.
