The following Sentinel base types are obtainable in zones or Sentinel Caches:

  • Rusted (Act 1 Stalker only)
  • Bronze
  • Cobalt
  • Brimstone
  • Emberstone
  • Obsidian

The following Sentinel base types are only found in Unique form or created by Assembling:

  • Cryptic (Assembly)
  • Primeval (Assembly)
  • Ancient
  • Cosmic (Unique Apex only)

Preparing Sentinel bases

  • Prepare your item filter. Normal rarity Sentinels can be safely hidden.
  • Collect Sentinels from enemies or Sentinel Caches and ID them.
  • Filter all Stalker and Pandemonium Sentinels with chance for Empowered Enemies to have X Reward of the following types: Currency, Sentinel, Divination card, Scarab, Harbinger, Breach, Fossil, Legion, Blight, Metamorphosis, Expedition, Heist, Ritual, Delirium

Regex:

  "(cy|el|rd|ab|ger|il|ion|ht|is|st|ual|um|ch) r"

Grafting Sentinels

For Bronze and Cobalt Sentinels with the chance for Empowered Enemies to have X Reward modifier, you may want to transfer these to a low-value Obsidian base. This process is referred to colloquially as "grafting".[1]

  • Use a Power CorePower CoreStack Size: 20Destroys two Sentinels to create a fully-charged Sentinel with a combination of their properties. Sometimes, the resultant item is modified unpredictablyRight click this item then select two Sentinels to combine. to open the Sentinel Assembly
  • Insert the donor Bronze/Cobalt Sentinel and the recipient Obsidian Sentinel base (magic or low-value rare)
  • Assemble a new Sentinel and check the results.
    • If you get an Obsidian Sentinel with the Reward mod, stop here.
    • If you get a Bronze/Cobalt Sentinel with the Reward mod, repeat the grafting process with a new Obsidian base.
    • If you get either base type without the Reward mod, you have lost the mod and need to start over with new Sentinels. Obsidian bases can be reused for future grafting, however.

      • Use for combining bad Sentinels.
  • Each mod has approximately 50% chance to appear on the new Sentinel.
    • Avoid doubling up on good mods as succeeding on the first mod will cause the second mod to be wasted.
    • Avoid combining Sentinels with a total of >6 mods to prevent mod dilution. [3]
