New counterattack skills in 1.3.0

Do we consider the new gems Vengeance, Riposte and Reckoning to be Trigger Gems? According to our definition, Trigger Gems are support gems that activate other linked gems, while the aforementioned counter-attacks are active gems that trigger themselves. Although they do have the Trigger keyword, the support trigger gems do not. If it were up to me, the new gems do not belong on this page. But what do the others think?--Climmels (talk) 19:40, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

That's a good point. If we don't consider these skill gems "trigger gems", then we need to figure out what how to classify them. If we do think they should be referred to as trigger gems, then we need to rewrite the article to account for that. I haven't seen the new skills in game yet, so I don't personally have an opinion either way as of now. —Vini (t|c) 22:09, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
The original six gems now have the trigger keyword. I think, as a keyword, trigger should describe all 9. This is similar to the way totem (or trap or mine) keyword works: the keyword is on totem active skills, and also a support which makes other active spells into totems. --Qetuth-(talk) 10:45, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Also, Category:Trigger Gems should be moved to Category:Trigger support gems, and this page should probably be moved to Trigger skills I think. --Qetuth-(talk) 02:58, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Needs description of "multiple trigger gems" - ie, can they trigger simultaneously, etc

I believe I have actually seen this discussed elsewhere, but that information should be here when players come looking for it. SonOfSmak (talk) 00:52, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

I have added clarification of the v1.2.2 restriction on trigger supports, but not sure how clear my wording is to others. Also changed the example spell to Cold Snap (as the first cooldown spell I thought of) now that Enduring Cry can't be triggered. --Qetuth-(talk) 02:58, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, that's pretty confusing ("Since multiple trigger supports cannot support the same attack skill"). I think you might mean something like this: "A single attack skill cannot be supported by multiple trigger gems..." (I don't know if that is true, but it should definitely be described here, as that is what I came looking for...); and "A spell that is cast as the result of a trigger cannot itself set off another trigger" (although again I don't know if that is actually true, I'm just offering a clearer wording).
I started to fix up using your line and ended up rewriting most of the intro. Hopefully that is clearer. --Qetuth-(talk) 05:48, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
