== Incorrect formula? ==
Is there a source for this complicated exponential function?
It makes logical sense for the formula to just be y = a / (1 + x) where x is the decimal form of the faster expiration rate stat. Expiring 100% faster should have half the duration: a / (1 + 1). Expiring 100% slower should have infinite duration: a / (1 - 1).
While we're at it, giving the variables more appropriate labels makes it easier to quickly look at the formula and figure out which numbers go where (like in all of the armor formulas): Dresultant = Dbase / (1 + ER)
This formula has cropped up in the subreddit's daily questions thread fairly often and the response is essentially "the wiki is wrong". If it is wrong, it should be corrected; if it is correct, it needs a citation/source so people know it's correct.

Need examples

The mechanics section states, "The difference only matters for bonuses and downsides that apply to having increased or decreased duration on a temporary effect." There should be examples added to show the importance of this distinction. —Vini (t|c) 03:35, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Incorrect formula?

While we're at it, giving the variables more appropriate labels makes it easier to quickly look at the formula and figure out which numbers go where (like in all of the armor formulas): Dresultant = Dbase / (1 + ER) This formula has cropped up in the subreddit's daily questions thread fairly often and the response is essentially "the wiki is wrong".
